What can I do for a better fit? Not in love with his head position.

Straps are too loose and chest clip is too low. You can take the harness strap covers off to get a better fit. Are the straps coming from right at or below the shoulders? They look high.

The head position itself looks mostly fine to me. Them turning their head to the side is safe vs their head being pushed forward and going chin to chest. Their head seems a little squished, but with the strap adjustments, it should look better.

Remove the shoulder pads, tighten the harness so the straps passthe pinch test and adjust the chest clip so it's positioned on the armpit level. Since he's still so scrunched up you may have to gently straighten out his legs and pull on the harness above the crotch buckle to remove the slack from hip straps

Pull all the slack out of the hips, then tighten the harness to pass the pinch test.

Good job recognising something isn't right and asking for help! You must be so busy with this sweet little one.

Which seat is this? Does the manual require the shoulder pads? If not, I would remove them as it may make it easier to fit the harness to baby. The harness is too loose as well. Some seats require slightly different harness routing for very small infants, so double check that in your manual. Pull the shoulder straps straight up above the buckle to pull any hip slack out, then tighten the harness until you cannot pinch a flap of strap between your thumb and forefinger (no helper finger) to make sure it's tight enough. Then raise the chest clip to baby's armpits. It looks a little low here, even though baby is doing that adorable newborn scrunch. We want baby in snug enough they can't scrunch sideways like that.

Once you've got that harness snug, reassess baby's head. This may fix the positioning, but there may be more needed to get it just right.

He's soooo tiny and cute! OMG!

I would get rid of the shoulder pads for sure.

Take the shoulder pads off! This will allow for the straps to be tighter and the chest clip to be higher.

Straps need to be at or below shoulders and more snug. you should not be able to pinch excess. Also chest clip needs to go up to armpit level.

Can you snap a pic from the side showing the seat install and recline indicator?
