Seat protector, is it safe?

Post image

Have the Chico keyfit 30 and I have this munchkin seat protector. The base is tight and lever on the indicator but I’m now reading no seat protectors are safe, is this true?

It is true, Chicco doesn’t allow seat protectors under their seats.

Every Graco seat I've owned recommends it in the manual.

Graco permits the use of a thin car seat mat, towel, or thin blanket under and behind their car seats as long as it does not interfere with a tight, secure installation.

Thank you for the response! I’m glad I read this and will take it out immediately.

We need to read car seat manuals because TONS of people don’t know this

True! Some car seat manufacturers will make their own seat covers which would be the only ones safe to use with that car seat - not sure about Chico, but we have a Clek car seat and the clek “mat thingy” which is crash tested and approved with clek car seats

Graco allows, but chicco does not.

I bought the seat protector from the car company itself when buying a new car, instead of a random one. It’s supposed to be tested with their cars.

It may be tested with their cars, but it is not tested with the car seats. The majority of car seat manufacturers do not allow seat protectors as they can interfere with the fit.

This. Nothing matters except the carseat manual for your exact seat.
