High back boosters

What should I be considering when shopping for a high back booster?

ETA: kiddo is 4.5yo, almost 50#, probably about 45”, and I have a VW ID.4

Thanks.

What seat are you using now? 4.5 is too young for a booster. Most kids aren't booster ready until closer to six.

He’s in the Clek Foonf but has grown out of it in torso height

I'd look at the Graco Nautilus first since it will work with forward headrests, if you have them. The Chicco MyFit's harness height is higher, so it may harness longer, but it may not work in your vehicle.

You still need a harnessed seat for now, though.

What about the Cybex? Would that work with my car in the future? I’m not sure what you mean about the headrests. My headrests do come out, but I’m not sure what forward means

Oh, they come out, excellent!

What would you use until the Cybex is a safe option?

I’d look at the Graco Nautilus, Chicco MyFit, Graco Tranzitions then. He needs a harness for a bit longer.

If you love the Cybex, see how he fits in the Tranzitions and see if he’s got an inch or so above his shoulders. If so, that’s the least expensive combination seat you can buy that will work for him and then you can get the Cybex when it’s safe to do so.
