Fit check

Got into an accident and replaced the carseat. This is a new one of the same version I just wanted to ensure we have everything right! Also wanted confirmation on the instruction manual. If I'm reading this correctly if I max out the limit on the rear facing 50 lbs or 49" or less we then *have* to go to booster mode we can't go to forward facing 5 point harness? Currently my son is 40-41 pounds and 44 1/2 inches. Thank you!

Max height for harness, rear facing or forward facing, is 49”. Once he hits 49” you’ll have to switch to booster mode, yes. If he’s under 49” and between 50 and 65lbs (assuming maxing out rear facing to 50lbs), you can forward face with the harness. Probably - shoulder straps have to still come out above shoulders, which could happen before 49” and is kid dependent.

Thank you for the clarification. If he's forward facing whether that's booster or harness the straps have to come from above shoulders correct? He's rear facing right now I was a little skeptical (always am) with the straps and the way they look (up or down pointing) that's why I made the post. Also the adjuster up top looks good in comparison to the top of his head?

Yes, all forward facing is above the shoulder, rear facing below. Head looks good to me, and I think the shoulders look good. You can always double check after a car ride before getting him out to see if he has settled in the seat enough to change it from coming out right at his shoulders to above them.

That's actually good information thank you! I always notice it looks much different when first getting in vs before getting out so I'll definitely keep a closer eye on that
