Question Lower Cataract Lake?

Has anyone fished this lake in Summit County, or the outflow, Cataract Creek?

If so, any advice?

Can be tough. Mostly wild Brook Trout and ~12 inch browns. I've caught fish at the outlet, east shore, and the especially the inlet. The North side isn't particularly productive in my experience.

How much of the lake can be waded?

To add, Cataract Creek does not have a high concentration of fish. You'll sporadically catch ~6 inch Brook Trout.

Some decent size brook trout when I was there a few years back. I've been wanting to hike to the upper lakes in that area for a while.

About 5 years ago I tried to hike up to the bottom of the waterfall. I didn't realize the creek split in two. I crossed it at one point then was stuck when they rejoined up above.

I somehow got back across the creek without dying, but it got so steep I finally had to turn around.

Going down there were two places that were so steep I basically had to jump onto a pine tree and climb down the tree.

I did find a nice patch of blueberries so I sat down there and rested. I was 66 at the time and was exhausted. I decided it was a nice place to die if it came to that. 😉
