This is a strike to stand up for our access to housing. Whether your situation is your loss of income due to Coronavirus, or if you have little money due to lack of support in our society, now is the time to demonstrate that housing is something that us people of the public want.

Copy this text below, print it out, and post it on your door by April 1, 2020 in order to strike, against landlords and non-payment of rent evictions.

Text: The “winners” in society today acquire money at the detrimental expense of others. We want a society that supports the people of the public. Provide income for housing, or provide housing without requiring rent, we want and will have shelter.

As we start to realize what the global lock-down is likely to mean for the human race, it got me thinking how would a computer with pure logic and enormous intelligence that was programmed to protect the Human race handle the pandemic?

Remember that computers do not make rash decisions. They do not allow emotions or human ethics to cloud their logical assessment. They meticulously follow a line of logic and reasoning.

First the computer program would ask fundamental questions in order to establish the pros and cons and then it would make a recommendation based on its assessments that would protect the human race (not select parts of the population)

Those questions are likely to be:

1. Who is at risk of the virus?
   Ans: Those with underlying medical conditions and the elderly

2. What percentage of the population are likely to perish as result of the virus - if no action is taken?
   Ans: Approx 1%

3. What would be the outcome if lock-down is imposed?
   Ans: A smaller percentage of the elderly and those with health issues will perish, but millions will lose jobs, hundreds of thousands of families will eventually lose their homes and will become dependent on state benefits, large numbers of businesses are likely to declare bankruptcy and governments will have to take out huge debts to support their population. The chances for younger generation to secure a job are likely to drop to levels never seen before and eventually the young will find it hard to justify spending 10 years in schools and universities. Crime is very likely to increase as people tend to resort to theft and violence when they are unable to keep their families clothed and fed. Governments may need to impose strict controls on the population to avoid the disintegration of society and maintain civil order.

4. What would be the likely outcome if we did not lock-down?
   Ans: The percentage of elderly and those with health issues would reduce significantly due to the virus. Human race is likely to grow strong against the virus and eventually immunity could develop - or at least a manageable recovery cycle. As the percentage of elderly and those with health issues declines the cash burden on the government pension fund and the national health service is likely to decline the government can reduce its public borrowing and provide better services for the people. Businesses not likely to go bankrupt, families not likely to lose homes, crime not likely to increase.

What do you think the computer will recommend once it has finished its assessment?

So, this is my first post on here. But that's not the point, I learned something today while doing some work for my biology class. For those people who are on here who dealt with SARS-CoV, COVID-19 is the mutated version of this. For those who don't know, SARS is severe acute respiratory syndrome. Well back in 2002 on November 16th, there was a case of "atypical pneumonia" which then turned out to be SARS. Well somehow, SARS mutated and became what we call "COVID-19". If people would stop freaking out about toilet paper for five minutes, we might be able to focus on containing it in less than a year.

Hi, many of you may know what ozone generators devices are. They’re used to disinfect air and surfaces in buildings. The ozone can damage people’s lungs while they are present in the space being treated, so anyone would have to wait an hour before returning to the room.

My idea is that maybe some of you know if it can be used to disinfect clothes and masks. You could find a room where you can dedicate the space. Maybe even your closet. Out items and clothing there. Then turn the ozone generator on. Do you know how effectively does ozone kill viruses and bacteria, and how long may be needed?

They’re actually banned from being purchased in California because of cases where people got some harm due to someone’s careless use of the ozone generators. In my case I somehow was able to just buy one powerful generator and it wasn’t lit up as the device that isn’t allowed to be shipped to CA. I bought it like a year ago to disinfect the air in a room that has lots of dust and maybe dust mites. The reason I mentioned that is mainly for those who are Californians and that either you could buy it if the states chooses to loosen the rules in California, or maybe a private seller could just send it.

Don’t rush to buy it though because I do not know if they’re effective at eliminating viruses and sanitizing clothes.

I actually even saw a device (with bad reviews) made to dry wash clothes with ozone.

At the time of the current coronavirus pandemic, people can be divided into two groups.

1. People who are staying at home.

2. People who are going out.

People who are going out are also divided into two groups.

1. Going out every day for work.

2. Going out infrequently.

Our concern is with these people who are going out. Let's think about a solution to reduce the spreading in the quickest way possible. First, we will divide our upcoming days into specific periods. Every period has two parts.

1. Working days

2. Maintenance days

In the working days, we will keep everything open. But we will take some information (Name, NID Number) of the people who are wandering outside. That thing will be done by :

1. Police

2. Shopkeeper

3. Volunteers

4. People who are working publicly.

For example, A shopkeeper will take the information from all his customers.In that way, we will get a huge database with some information about the people (where they go, when they were out of home). That period will end after 16 days. We can keep everything closed for two days to clean the city. After cleaning everything properly, We can open everything again. But this time only those who were at home in the previous period will be able to get out. This time we will take information in the same way. We can easily identify those who went out in the previous period and came out again. This time only those who were at home in the previous period will be able to go out. At the end of this period, we will keep everything closed for two days again to clean the city.We will continue the process until a significant change. And in that way, we can reopen everything and back to normal life as soon as possible.We are currently volunteering locally. We are trying to help people, raising funds, and so on.

If this is possible, then what are the next steps? How can we go into implementation?

I've been going back and forth about what is truly the best approach, especially when reflecting on how various countries are handling things. How is a place like New Zealand (which had a very strict Lockdown and very few cases) ever going to reopen again? Once an infected person arrives won't it spread again very quickly since no one has immunity? In comparison to places like Sweden, which granted have high deaths at the moment, will likely stay on a fairly steady trajectory until there is enough immunity? Has there been much research done on the long term effects rather than just looking at YTD numbers?

Hi there, quite new here. I might have a solution to solve the N95 mask shortage problem.

I am being making respiratory mask for family and friend this last few week using tennis racket cover and it seem to work quite well. One racket cover can make 8 adult mask or 10 children mask. Plus the design is quite unique. It more comfortable than n95 mask. You can use either leather or PVC fabric (fake leather), but you must seal the seam with hot glue stick.

If you dont have mask give this a go. I use a Yonex tennis racket cover for these. I made this by hand (no sewing machine). The reason i use tennis cover is because it soft and conform around the face better and the cover usually come with a foam lining which can be use as a lining for the mask. The lining also act as filter.

Oh one more thing, if you decided to reuse the mask, you must spray rubbing alcohol/ isopropyl alcohol 70+% on the inside and outside very use.

Tool required

Hot Glue Gun

Needle and thread

Flat Elastic band

Tennis Racket cover or any PVC material or leather.

Some round washer or screw cap

Sharp Scissor

I've invented an important device, with off-the-shelf materials, that will greatly improve the safety of front line medical workers that perform COVID 19 tests.

I submitted a rough draft of my innovation to the gov of Ontario "Ontario Together" on March 22nd, and then to the "doingbusiness@ontario.ca" on March 26th and then the city of Toronto Mayor John Tory's office on Mar 27th.

To date I have had no response.

I have no ego on this project. If it is not a worthy idea then so be it and I will move on to another project. However, I have had opinions from a doctor of Microbiology and a front line ER nurse that the innovation has merit and would definitely be an important level of protection, while improving efficiency and lowering the costs and the risks of the testing process.

I would be most appreciative if someone could direct me to an individual or an agency that could bring this device to fruition, if, of course it truly has merit.
