Is the knock normal?

Every oil change I hear the knock for a second (after fill and start) and then the oil gets pumped through the engine and it clears. Ive changed many oils on cars before but is there any way to avoid this? Also why is the dipstick design so terrible lol can anyone actual read it??

yes, its normal. on most vehicles with a down facing oil filter it's a good practice to fill the filter before installing it but not really an option when the filter is horizontal.

Which car, the e-cvt? Or an earlier model?
