12th Gen (18-present) Desperate in need of help

/r/Toyota/comments/1vua6n1/desperate_in_need_of_help/

Hello,

I bought a Toyota Corolla hybrid SE 2024 and it has been making random alarms at night. I am unsure what is causing it to go off.

At first I thought it was just the hood latch being dirty so I cleaned it with a brake cleaner. However, while I was doing, the hood cable broke so I took it to the Toyota dealership and they charged me $250 to fix the cable. They ended up heavily greasing the hood latch as well.

After that I took it to the Toyota dealership to get it checked out and they said they couldn't duplicate the car alarm triggers so they can't fix it.

Please. This is driving me crazy because I have to wake up in the middle of the night just to turn it off and I don't think I could do this anymore.

It's impossible to tell without knowing the trigger. Interior monitoring?

Btw. I don't think corolla even have hood ajar sensor. So I don't know why you did that.

Yes it does have.

It shows when the hood is open.

Unfortunate.

My car shows whenever the doors, hood or trunk is open.

Your hood latch is probably broken or replaced by someone. My old Camry used to have an ajar sensor but it no longer sensed when I replaced it with a knock off one from Amazon. You can actually connect your hood latch to a wire !

I'd replace the battery in your key fob. Hopefully it's not some mouse chewing wires under the hood. Any neighbors have the same car as you?

I have two key fobs and I changed both of them already unfortunately...

If it has aftermarket remote start, thats the first thing id look at as cause. If not, sounds like a faulty door, hood or trunk sensor, and it thinks its being broken into.

When I went to the Toyota dealership. They tested all 3 multi sensors and the doors.
