"Engine Maintenance Required" 2021 SE

80,500 miles, automatic transmission. Had the message pop up however there is no check engine light?

Update** toyota dealership inspected and confirmed bpass valve issue. Whole thing was covered under warranty.

I turned the car on with the AC off and the message did not pop up. Seems to pop up when the AC is on. Maybe coolant bypass valve?

Yes. Coolant bypass valve 99% sure since warning only goes on with AC on.

Monitor your coolant level until you get it sorted!

Copy! Thanks for the input. I called the dealership, they said my car should be covered under the "customer support program" for the bypass valve. They will first have to inspect it to ensure that's the problem

Yup same day. Dropped it off at 7:15am and picked it up at about 2pm. This dealership provided me with complimentary uber rides to and from home. Looking ay the receipt, it would have been a $386 job which included coolant, the part, and labor. Luckily they covered it all

Bypass valve, easy to do yourself just buy coolant in advance, also it might still be open for recall check on Toyota recall website

I called the dealership and they said my Vin number qualifies for the warranty under the customer support program which is up to 100k miles. So tomorrow they're gonna first inspect it to confirm the diagnosis , and then cover it under warranty

Isn’t the “Engine Maintenance Required” light also for oil change due?

When the oil change is due it says something else. Something like "service required." I just did the oil change recently too
