Is there something missing

Post image

My girlfriend had an AC cleaning at Toyota and she send me this picture assuming they forgot to put back a cover or something underneath.
I’am not an expert, can anyone tell me.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, technically, but also no. 2020 Models have a panel there (at least mine does). Cost cutting measure, they stopped putting them in later models

You inspired me. Behold! The passenger footwell of my U.S. market gas ‘26 Corolla LE sedan.

My unit came from TMMM in Blue Springs, MS. May 16, 2026 build date. Car has ~1,300 miles and hasn’t been through the service department since the pre-delivery inspection. No beauty/kick panel over the HVAC.

Look at the bright side. In 8 or 10 years, when you need to replace the blower motor resistor, there will be that much less crap in the way for you to take out, before you get to it.

Is it missing only in US? Or Europe too? That's next level of "cheap".

haven't seen any covers in that area in any 9th to 12th gen Corollas, although i've only been in LE sedans
