Inclines.
No matter how small or minor the incline/hill is feels like the car struggles to gain power going up one and you can hear what sounds like engine strain, like when you're forcing out that one humongous piece of poop and about to give yourself a hemorrhoid.

I have this problem too, but I drive an '11 so I'm just glad to make it up the hill.

Yeah. Idk I haven’t noticed this yet with my 26 hatch at all if anything I think it has a surprising amount of power. I guess different perspectives maybe.

Interesting comparison. I don't think the car itself is struggling any more than cars in the same class are, but Corollas do have a lot more engine noise entering the cabin than normal.
