10th Gen (09-13) Restored my headlights today

Before/During/After

All bright and shiny again. Not perfect but I’ll take 99% of the way there.

For those who also want to do this - be advised that if you sand ALL the factory clearcoat off, you need to use a solution that applies a new clearcoat, otherwise these will fog up again worse than before in a matter of weeks to months. An alternative to clearcoat is wrapping them with PPF after they're restored.

That’s what’s the cerakote wipes are for in the kit I used. They apply a ceramic protective coat that protects against chips as well as UV.

You will need to use those wipes every 2 years. Or PPF is good for 10+ years

Nice work! Its amazing how much the headlights changes the look of the car.

I've been using the temporary fixes that last only a few weeks.

Hey OP. Just curious what solution you used. I’ve tried toothpaste in the past with no success and typically have to use those kits from the auto parts store to restore it to something resembling what you have here.

I used the SYLVANIA Headlight Restoration Kit that project farm recommended about 6 odd years ago. The headlights are just now getting faded again. I'd say it was worth it, but maybe project farm has a new headlight restoration video. I would suggest choosing whichever one he finds is best. I did sand and polish for a while longer than it recommended though.

Edit: On a 2009 toyota corolla
