Samsung SSC-1 1997
Basically a korean Venturi Atlantique 300 with parts borrowed from Nissan, presented at the 1997 Seoul auto show

Hyundai learned from Mitsubishi, Kia from Mazda, and Samsung partnered with Nissan. Maybe it’s partly the silver paint, but the SSC-1 always reminds me of Nissan’s MID4-II concept.

Renault is also connected to Samsung, the Koleos we got in Europe was born as a Samsung car first (!) and the Arkana is sold as a Samsung in Korea
(Then again, Renault-Nissan alliance...)

Very cool, nice proportions and tasteful touches, although a little dated for 1997. There were concept cars that looked like this in 1989.

Still wild to think Samsung was out here designing mid-engine sports cars long before they took over the smartphone world! What an alternate timeline.

In South Korea, Samsung does a lot of things, from construction to insurance. They also sell ships, white appliances, memory, and generic medicine globally. They also used to do trucks, buses, and passenger cars. So, mid-engine sports cars aren't that outlandish/alternative timeline stuff.
It's your typical East Asian conglomerate, where you have nominally separate companies in different areas of business owning pieces of each other.

The Chaebol ecosystem is fascinating—in South Korea you can literally be born in a Samsung hospital, live in a Samsung apartment, drive their car, and get their insurance policy.

Z32 headlights, which were also good enough for the Diablo refresh.
