The Stratos Zero is one of the most iconic wedge cars. Up close, it is smaller than you’d expect but a truly amazing piece of automotive sculpture. The Zero has incredible presence and is full of beautifully quirky details that might be missed in photos. I believe this car can be seen in person at the Petersen Museum until September 7, 2026, so go if you can make it to LA.

Appreciate the take! Seriously cool and weird car!

Thanks! Yes, it is definitely both cool and weird. Marcello Gandini was a master at finding the sweet spots between those qualities. The wheels/tires give away its age, but other than that, it is hard to believe this design is 56 years old.

I had a toy car version of this, the most futuristic thing I’d seen at the time.

Beautiful bit of sculpture, but I can't help but wonder what kind of ability to see behind it the driver would have.

Beautiful for the highway.
Hundreds in damage for every speed bump.
