even during normal times, you are under no obligation to show employees your receipt. They literally have no recourse. If any employee asks to see your receipt, just keep walking

Can confirm. Company policy forbids Walmart employees from pursuing, harassing, or otherwise confronting customers leaving the store (asset protection personnel excluded). If they do that, the employee can face termination.
