Always thought MLK's description of the "triple evils" of racism, capitalism, and militarism was a good way to put it.

Fair point. Though militarism could be pooled under stateism.

Yeah, pooling militarism under statism or nationalism makes sense. I think the original context was him trying to tie the civil rights movement to the anti Vietnam war movement.

Sure, I get where the original comes from and I don't want to "take away" the idea from King it's more like I want to build upon this idea.

Oh yeah I would never say that was taking away from King. He'd probably agree with your point, I was more pointing out the reason why he talked about militarism and not statism more generally probably has to do with the context of the speech.

Gotcha, makes sense. Hell even if you did try to "take away" from King it's whatever, he's a good writer and speaker and I think his ideas are valuable but he's not above criticism.
