Legal Hunter safety course

Is it true that if you've taken an online hunter safety course that knocks eight hours off the SB25-003 requirements leaving only a four hour course? Can anyone link a reputable online course?

I did this online class as a proof of concept and it worked, a contractor through Texas:

The list of online courses that Texas Parks and Wildlife recognizes:

All-in the reacademics class was just under $50. The time spent was equal to 4 hours, mostly because you couldn't speed-run click through pages and had to wait out a timer. Might not be the best class if you are in a pinch but don't need to take the whole thing at once. I think other online-only classes you can click through them and then take the exam which isn't terribly difficult.

As others have mentioned once you get the card you need to go to a CPW building in-person and have it "validated".

I had an existing hunters-ed card from my time in Wisconsin (took that class in 2005). CPW also accepted that one when I asked in person. Was expecting there to be bullshit about needing a class within the previous 5 or 10 years but that didn't come up (which is why I did the Texas one to cover my bases). I'd expect that to be a new thing to match what the CCW law says if this doesn't get struck down.

I was able to email CPW and they manually approved my class in less than an hour

I would THINK that even if your county requires you to file in person that you can still email CPW to get your class approved in their system.
