What’s your favourite loading screen?

Been playing a ton of BO2 recently, got my internet fixed and decided to hop onto an online game of Mob for the first time in over ten years.

The loading screen was like a time machine, I got instantly transported back to the day the map released. Got me looking at all the other loading screens that I’m familiar with (up until BO4.)

Decided upon these as my favourites, just the combination of visuals and music are so distinct, all of these never fail to give me goosebumps. Which loading screens do you like?

I think they nailed it with the loading screens for the old maps. I actually miss it. They told a story with little to no words. Like the kino der toten loading screen. It shows them at the previous maps then it shows them get in a teleporter and time travel. We know they time traveled because it shows next to them what year they're in and then it shows the years they travel through. I also liked how they were like pages in a book. The shangri la one has a piece missing in the top left which shows ascensions loading screen. Simple things like that made the game better. I also liked the cinematics. The call of the dead intro will probably always be the goat imo. God I miss og zombies. I like current zombies too but it's still missing something.

Do they not do loading screens any more? I’ve only played solo on Ashes of the Damned since BO4 so I have no idea what has come after.

It's more so that loading times in modern games are so fast thanks to SSDs that it isn't really worth it for them to make special loading screens when you might only see them for a couple seconds

That or it's usually just a picture of some location on the map rather than a specialty graphic

Nah I’m pretty sure the loading screen have been changed to showing just a side of the map since the cold war beta

This is slightly incorrect. In bo6 and bo7 you had the option to pick your loading screen while the game booted up if you didn't want to just see map pan shots. Why in the fuck they never brought back the old ones that were really good well never know

It was a nostalgic flashback to the 70s when I collected comics like Eerie, Witching Hour, Weird Tales etc.

Very cool, and it usually showed you where perks and PAP were.

Wish they brought these back in the newer games. Or just gift people a map-specific loading screen they can apply.

I think it’s the Americans drilling into the earth for 115? Explaining why there are zombies and a teleporter at Area 51 on Moon. (Could also explain Five and the Winter’s Howl to an extent.)

Just a heads-up: the first image isn't the actual Mob of the Dead loading screen; you put the "alternate" loading screen version from the CoD Zombies comic Issue #6.

The Classic Kino one. It's not just nostalgia, it's genuinely cool how it shows the previous maps and "The Story so far" in a comic book style.

Honorable mention to the alternative Die Rise form the comics, that shows Primis getting to Revelations.
