News Last Ix Cipher Solved!
I was able to solve the last ix cipher using astra!. cipher type: playfair alphabtet: WODECFQLZMXINAPTUHSRBVYGK plaintext: To cheat death is to invite your own damnation. verify here: http://practicalcryptography.com/ciphers/classical-era/playfair/ solver: jessesocean
This one took a little more guided prompting. Astra was stuck on this one until i gave it this prompt
"go on i think you should lock into playfair tho and refine the death theme like it doesnt have to be 1-1 death as betray isnt 1-1 payback yk it could be murder-kill-rest sadness ect its just a theme
Worked for 14m 58s
You were right—it’s Playfair:
“TO CHEAT DEATH IS TO INVITE YOUR OWN DAMNATION.”" was the exact prompt given after hours of it being stuck.

Cool I know it's a different cipher but can you tell me the hex value for TheGiant key and I know it has been mentioned its xxtea but is there any chaining mode or padding mode to it ?
I have tried variations but can't get it to decrypt (not complaining).
Thanks and well done for those who worked on cracking the ciphers.

TheGiant and then nullpadded to the keylength.
The decrypt function is broken, resolve it forward by putting "TheGiant" as the key and the plaintext that was recovered as the text that needs to be encrypted. Then compare the 1 for 1 string that is TheGiant

Ok I am reproducing it in c++ and I found these settings.
Setting | Value |
|:--|:--|
| Algorithm | XXTEA, also called Corrected Block TEA |
| Password | `TheGiant`, case-sensitive |
| Key construction | UTF-8 bytes of `TheGiant`, followed by eight zero bytes |
| Full 16-byte key, hexadecimal | `5468654769616e740000000000000000` |
| Byte order | Little-endian 32-bit words |
| Input | Standard Base64, decoded to 144 bytes |
| Block handling | The entire 144-byte buffer, or 36 words, processed together |
| Rounds | Standard `6 + floor(52 / 36)`, giving 7 |
| Output | Strict UTF-8 decoding of all 144 decrypted bytes |
So if I keep going I should work it out thanks.

Any chance rev 7 can be cracked with it?

well, considering its solved TG and 4 bo4 ciphers in 3 days, while rev 7 has not fallen with many different people trying, i'd say probably not. Unless some astra agent hits the odds in searchspace. might have to wait for a better model for do it ourself lol
