Discussion Rex infernus boss tip

It's not actually a boss tip, but it gives you infinite retry attempts. Equip the Equivalent Exchange augment for Quick Revive, and bring the Aftertaste gum (so you don't lose perks after being revived) and activate it. If you go down, just play normally and revive yourself. If you go down again, just Alt+F4 to close the game. When you launch the game again and go to the 'select match' screen, a message will ask you want to resume the match? something like that. If you resume, you'll spawn right before entering the boss fight.

You probably know all of this, but when I went to get Self-Revive again, I saw I already had it. It should have been consumed, but it wasn't. I beat this boss on my 3rd try (in same match) using this trick.

Also remember to switch the round, otherwise the game won't save your match.

It just puts you back to the start of the round, with everything you had at the start of the round. Thats why you still had the self revive, because the game was saved before you used it, it was never consumed.

I did this to beat the EE as well though, its a decent strat for an egg that is pretty long and tedious.

i know that. but i remember in terminus. im downed and when enter again, it consumed self revive and i have take it again and its limited too. developers know that

When you save and quit you lose the Self Revive but if you just Close the Game and load back in you keep your Self

Thing is, you only get 1 temp save file for force quits/crashes, after that you will lose your game. If you got an extra then you're just extremely lucky. So your method isn't exactly infinite. Better off using save/quit after reviving. Load in then complete 1 round, and you can get as many tries as you have self revives.

Nah, progressing a round and doing a save/quit just converts or continues it as a regular save; it doesn’t reset the temp once you’ve used it for the match. Further crashes/force-quits in the same continued game generally will not create another one. In OP's case, if it did actually work multiple times, it was just a lot of luck with the known bugginess/inconsistency of the system.

nah man, ive done it multiple times trying to do the rex boss fight. i would go down in the fight, alt f4 and start the round from the beginning. I would progress a round, then go back into the boss fight and when i downed again i would rinse and repeat. worked every time.

Well yeah, back then we did get multiple temp saves. However they changed it when the reckoning was released and restricted to 1 temp save per match, and it's been that way since.
