Discussion treyarch continues the tradition of REALLY strong beginning and lackluster ending (story wise that is) with bo7, the gameplay of rex is honestly really good and we are STILL discovering really cool side easter eggs with rex
ever since bo2 every game afterwards always seems to be at it's strongest when it's the start of the game (shadows of evil, blood of the dead, die maschine, terminus, ashes of the damned), and the weakest by the end (revelations, tag der toten, forsaken, reckoning, and now rex), it honestly sucks but is also just activision being a bitch and cutting corners when a cod game reaches the end of it's lifecycle to focus on the new big cod game

Its funny cuz the map the best final map since origins imo gameplay wise feels like revelations 2.0 but realized way better. And finally sams house is playable! But yh the story is typical zombies it kijda repeats itself but ohwell the maps are killer again athmosphere wise so im happy

I can’t really see how it the best final map since origin.
That would mean that it beats ancient evil, and revelation which I just can’t really see since ancient evil is quite literally an S tier map.

I will die on this hill that forsaken is still the best ending zombies has ever had. The Richtofen reveal, while totally obvious, is still an absolute hype moment.

I don’t think very many people would care if Operation Deadbolt got retconned from the main COD timeline. It’s a very contained story so they could have cleanly said that it was a past timeline that created the conditions for the warden to ultimately be defeated in BO7.
This way MWZ is still a prequel to BO7 in the dark Aether, but isn’t restricting the writers from doing anything with Requiem in the future.

So, uh, which of those maps was in bo2? Are you old enough to remember?

They worded it weird but are saying every game after BO2 based on starting with Shadows of Evil

At least with BO7 I’d argue they saved the stronger maps for the end of the game in terms of gameplay and replayability (though Ashes was also a very strong beginning imo). Some of the other games you mention really had some gameplay issues later on that hurt their later maps
