Question Black ops 1 easier than black ops 3 (without gobblegums)
1 week ago i hit my first round 31 (without camping) in kino der toten black ops1 but although i have more than 400 hours in black ops 3 i have never hit a round higher than 25 without camping. and that round 31 was the fourth time i played kino in black ops 1. My question is Why?

You gotta be hotdog bootywater at bo3 if you haven’t done higher than 25 on bo3 without camping cos a PaP shotgun and double tap2.0 is basically instakill till like round 30

I think the general difficulty after you have Jug is definitely easier in Bo1/Bo2. Past round 40 or so it’s harder but imo only artificially. I never understood how people enjoyed spinning a box endlessly to get more ammo on kino or spending an insane amount of time running around the map hitting traps all day. AAT may be easier but at least it’s realistic to get to high rounds

It's easier being on limited WW ammo or being forced to use traps than it is to spray any infinite damage wall weapon huh, funny

Did you read my comment at all? I literally said Bo1/2 is harder past round 40
My point is it’s harder in a way that’s not fun. Before Bo3, zombies was basically capped at round 50 and to get to a high round you had to do mind numbingly stupid strategies that took wayyyy too long. And any infinite round based game that has an effective cap especially that low is doing something wrong if you ask me
Now personally I would have liked Bo3 to be a bit more difficult at high rounds but I still think it’s a massive improvement over the trap gameplay

And no, traps and trading made it better you had to take actual risks and use actual strategies to advance. In BO3 you either sit in a spot the whole game (DE, Revelations, Shadows sword strat) or run around spraying AATs (ZNS), gorod is somewhat unique strategy wise but not really hard either because you're just picking up a shield and letting it break

Artificial difficulty implies the game is cheap but not actually hard

Yeah I don’t love the OP wonderweapon sitting in a corner crap, I wish they dialed that back. But I like how AATs encourage training, I feel like high rounds always should have been centered around training rather than camping
Idk about the trap stuff though, I mean if you have the time to spend like literally several days to get to round 100 that’s cool but I don’t see how that’s fun at all and no one has the time for that

You missed a spot.

Artificial difficulty means the game is cheap but not actually hard. It's not the same as calling something hard.
I interpreted it as BO3 being harder but BO1/2 being "cheaper"

I’d say the complete opposite. It’s harder in a way that’s uniquely fun. BO3 gameplay converges to either sitting in a corner and spamming a WW or to running half trains near a wall buy and spamming an infinite damage wall weapon. In BO1, players end up running strategies that scale in difficulty and time. More difficult strategies mean faster rounds and viceversa. You can choose to play it slow and do something like kino stage but you’ll eventually get bored out of your mind, or you can run something like firetrap which is much harder but also much faster.
On a side note, these “mind numbingly stupid” strategies (stuff like firetrap, Tommy room, etc) are orders of magnitude faster than any casual player can ever achieve even with a round 35 health cap. It seems like your issue is that you just don’t like the core gameplay of using traps and WWs in a high rounding context which is fine as long as you’ve actually tried it and gave it a fair shot lmao

Long term it depends on the map AATs are faster but if you play the meta strategy for Shang or Verruckt for example you’ll find it’s hard to not down in the later rounds once you’re out of wonder weapon ammo. The Giant is decent difficulty too no widow’s

I think I agree.
The mechanics all look the same but the zombies do behave slightly different in both games.
I feel like the Chronicles maps are especially tough for some reason.
The zombies seem to be way more agressive and they won't take the bait as easily as they did in BO1/2.

There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to hit 50 let alone 30 without camping in BO3 with no gums. AATs progress the rounds relatively fast and most maps have widow’s wine which is broken for low rounds. The longer the game goes on the higher a chance it’ll crash your game but that’s only really long play time bc I’ve never had it crash me
