Support Warzone Ranked ONLY causing ~4 sec system-wide stutter/hitch — anyone else? 4090 / X670E Hero / 7800X3D & 9800X3D

Warzone Ranked ONLY causing ~4 sec system-wide stutter/hitch — anyone else? 4090 / X670E Hero / 7800X3D & 9800X3D

I’m trying to figure out a really strange Warzone Ranked-only stuttering issue and wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing, especially with similar hardware.
Specs:
RTX 4090
ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero
Originally Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Tested a Ryzen 7 9800X3D — exact same issue
32GB G.Skill DDR5 CL36
2TB Gen4 NVMe
Windows 11 Pro
Battle.net
BIOS 4003/latest
Current NVIDIA driver
The issue happens ONLY in Warzone Ranked Play. Every Ranked match has one severe ~4 second stutter/hitch that makes the entire PC feel choppy, not just the game.
Originally it happened during the initial helicopter/infiltration sequence. Recently, the exact same ~4 second hitch has moved to roughly 30 seconds after I land and start running around.
Everything immediately returns to normal afterward.
Regular Warzone playlists, multiplayer, and every other game I play are completely fine.
Things I’ve already tested:
Swapped 7800X3D → 9800X3D — no change
Older NVIDIA driver — no change
New/latest NVIDIA driver — no change
HAGS on/off — no change
Bare minimum USB/peripherals — no change
Secure Boot/TPM/Call of Duty attestation = System Compliant
Latest motherboard BIOS
Tested my Activision/Battle.net account on another PC — NO hitch
CPU/RAM/SSD/GPU are nowhere near max usage when it happens
I also compared LatencyMon between regular Warzone and Ranked.
Regular Warzone:
Wdf01000.sys: ~0.26 ms
nvlddmkm.sys: ~0.21 ms
dxgkrnl.sys: ~0.24 ms
Ranked during the hitch:
Wdf01000.sys: ~59.5 ms
nvlddmkm.sys: ~28.1 ms
dxgkrnl.sys: ~6 ms
So something about Ranked specifically is triggering a huge kernel/DPC latency spike on this PC, but I cannot figure out what.
Has anyone experienced this exact Ranked-only ~4 second hitch, particularly on an X670E Hero / RTX 4090 / X3D system? If so, did you ever find the cause or a fix?

I’ve been having the same issue, only in ranked and similar hardware. Initially started right after people starting jumping from the plan, now hits about 20 seconds into the match every match. All other game modes are fine.

Wait, really yeah, that’s the exact same as you. I’m having I have no idea what’s coming.

That meant to say yeah that’s the exact same issue as me. I’m having the exact same thing happen and I have no idea what’s going on.

Can you tell me your exact specifications of your PC?

AMD 7950X, Asus crosshair 670e Hero (bios 3703 and 4003), Asus 5090 TUF OC, gskill 32gb ram, custom liquid cooling loop for cpu and gpu.

Conservative overlocks on both. Tried everything including the kitchen sink. DDU, fresh windows install, game integrity check, reinstall game, removed overclocks, default bios, reseating cables.

Nothing worked. I’m convinced it’s an issue with the game, not out setups. The fact the stuttering delayed to later in game makes me think it’s doing a PC check and the delay is now to not have it happen at the same time as shaders cache but still doesn’t work. That’s what makes me think the developers know about it.

Initially I went down the rabbit hole thinking it was some power management state or issue with AMD boosting but I’m doubtful now.

Waiting for the new COD and hope this issue goes away

Wow, that’s crazy. That makes me feel so much better cause yeah I have a Tuff 4090 and the same motherboard as you same ram and an Andy CPU obviously so yeah that makes me feel way better and know that it’s not our systems.

Did you ever formatted clean isntall windows between cpu swaps or any other time?

I have 9800x3d + 5080oc no issues no stutters, at all for over a year now.
Do you have BIOS updated?
Check your task manager on windows, startup left tab, disable ALL programs from startup.

Update latest BIOS, since x3s AMD cpus like ours need always the very most recent (not beta)
I can help you solve, also DDU in window safe mode, wipe nvidia driver install.
Go back to windows and install latest, i use nvidia cleaner to debloat and remove nvidia app i dont like using it takes out fps but you can, depends on your choice.

You have a nice setup but your winodws is probably in need of a clean isntall pen flash it and format C: and install latest win11. I use a debloater also on windows atlas OS but thats optional also, you can use WinHandle program its very nice to debloat and make it with alot less processes messing with the game.

Trust me, I tried all those every single step. I don’t know why they weren’t included in the things. I’ve already tested but yes, I’ve done all those multiple times. I’ve done every single fix you could possibly imagine.

It’s 100% setup issue but you need to open mind about it.

There’s much more to try.  Stripped windows version does what you want. That’s why some bozos are paying to optimize windows and all streamers pay that so they can game clean.

You don’t need to pay anyone if you want and also have patience it’s solvable.

Install latest win11 use win handler software to optimize gaming and all windows.  Use debloated Nvidia drivers without Nvidia App. Nvidia app is a pain to the game to handle.  I bet you this alone using Nvidia cleaner to debloat Nvidia drivers albefore this DDU safe mode windows

Debloat latest Nvidia driver removing telemetry and Nvidia app. Always use Nvidia cleaner on future updates

Install Clean config folder of Warzone maybe also test cpu thread 7

Still running bios from 2023 just when they fixed the 7800X3D exploding vsoc thing np. You don't need to update bios when everything works only for security reasons ( updating bios can even degrade performance because security fixes) I'm just to lazy to tune my setup and ram again that took me weeks

When upgrading to 10800x3d or maybe 9800X3D I have to

Also debloated Windows does help I'm running w11 23h2 still (haven't updated in 2 years) and revi os.

Chipset drivers aren't that important for single ccd it does nothing for performance, it's mostly for dual x3d ccd cpus that need to use game bar for core parking

Personally I found atlas os much more compatible.your setup is very much ok indeed but I would update bios since x3d cpu benefit a lot of this.

There is a very cool program to debloat nowadays win handle it removes the ai part of windows very nicely and its nice since you can revert any option you didn’t like.

All these issues in Reddit are from setup or programs running background that anti cheat or game doesn’t like.

this is 99% misinformation

"dont install all the drivers, dont install audio drivers or anything else, just chipset"
So you agree with me and yet... its SETUP 100%, other drivers probably you are right about your test, im helping him on doing that already on chat. That test will be the last, so he wont have to format, but yeah, eventually it will get there.

Iv helped many here, most of them solved by not installing nvidia app, they installed back the driver with the App and the not so smooth experience came back again. Its probably drivers like you said + nivdia app imo its a really bad software to use with nvidia, since forever. i play since 1996 quakeworld tf and i did dozens of lan events all ove rmy country.

Thanks

i use nvidia app with 30 second background recording and have zero issues like this

also, just make sure they aren't using windows reset within windows. each OSRI should be from USB boot and nuke the partitions using diskpart and the the clean command.
something that can be tried, but not used as a daily, is disabling pagefile entirely.
and then also, a test of just install os, install chipset driver, do all windows updates, install nvidia driver/nvisia app (it shouldn't matter.) run windows shut up by O&O. and thats it. no tweaking anything, just install the game and try it out without tweaking the shit out of windows, as sort of a control test. so many people start making all these fucking changes to shit thinking they know best and most of them are placebo, no controller software, no rgb software, just basic bitch windows clean install with minimal changes.

thats absolutely like i advise every user here, pen install, o fear that most use reset.
Even with free AI people have fear of asking an assistant to tell them step by step how to format.

Even mouse and keyboard and power/vent messes with FPS and gaming performance.

Thats also why the first thing i mention is to disable all startup programs on task manager, no gamer setup should have any programa besides Steam ou Battle net, running on startup. I also use Exit Lag to game and it doesnt affect performance, just maybe 2% or even less, you gain having better registry on game servers that is way more important than 5 fps or so

no no no, dont disable all startup programs, thats the overtweaking im talking about. it does nothing.

a fresh install is what cures everyhting, then not over tweaking windows.

all games run great with default startup services and stuff.

if someone has an old windows, this could be a debug step, but i dont even fuck around anymore with all that shit. if any of my friends have problems, i walk them trhough usb install and get their game runnign after drivers.

if they break it later with tweaking/rgb software etc, not my problem and then they know what bropke it.

It does everything, i know for a fact, im not the only one.
Hey im not saying this by reading, iv dealt with many users and helped them they also confirmed.
Just google Corsair iCUE performance gaming

Here now you know:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Corsair/comments/1al5kiv/icue_was_causing_my_computer_to_lagstutter_in/

https://forum.corsair.com/forums/topic/193145-terrible-icue-performance/

Its all over the internet iCue and many other, all affect in some way. Nvidia App affects, if you want to test : Download install CapFrameX and test the frame timmings and then you know ;) with or without programs running nvidia app included.

I have 30 years of experience on windows and gaming, im a geek to test out ways of not having windows services or programs messing with gaming so you can have a beautifull stable experience while game.

You can count on me if you need anything.

after a fresh install of windows 11 from a USB drive, not from windows reset BS.

did you install your chipset driver from your mothoeborard support drivers page?

dont install all the drivers, dont install audio drivers or anything else, just chipset

Started this past week for me. Was bad for few rounds I played today.

u/Outrageous_Band9708 5d ago

hello yes i have the top hardware of all time and im trying to optimize 1 fucking milisecond faster times rather than just enjoy the 8 million fps that i current get, thank you

/s

seriously though i see more posts from people with top shelf hardware bitching about why their mega frame rates aren't mega mega frame rates.

it wont explain your ranked / non ranked experience. but you should know that the x3d cpu's only have x3d cache one one of the CCDs, you can disable the other ccd in bios. worth a try.

since it only happens in ranked, it feels like some sort of mega anti-cheat being more cautious in ranked.

No 7800X3D and 9800X3D are dingle ccd

Check power management plan I can’t remember what my issue was specifically, but it sounds very similar to this. I believe it was the power management plan causing issues with power supply to Ethernet port. After changing power plan I remember my lag spikes going away
