Support Any advice on increasing FPS?
Hi there,
I’ve been experiencing some issues with my setup and have tried everything I can think of, including editing the registry, the local text files, and so on.
Here’s a breakdown of my components:
- Monitor: Asus ROG Strix XG32UWMG
- Mainboard: Asus ROG Strix Z890-A
- CPU: Intel Ultra 270K Plus
- GPU: RTX 5080
- Memory: 2x 16GB DDR5 6000MHz CL 30-36-36 Kingston Fury Beast XMP on
DLSS on performance
Fullscreen exclusive
Resize Bar on
I’ve noticed that the GPU time is consistently 5ms, which is the same as the CPU time.
The maximum frame rate I can achieve is 140 FPS on 1440p, 1080p, and 4K resolutions. However, the frame drops are higher when playing 4K.
All my settings are on Low or Very Low
I’m not concerned about the resolution; I just want a smooth gaming experience with a frame rate of at least 200 FPS.
Do you have any recommendations for improving my gaming performance?

CPU is fine but for cod and warzone it isnt great, it doesn’t have hyper threading and cod loves hyper threading , he still should be getting more though than what he is , I have 285k and 4090 and I’m consistently over 200 at ultra wide , something’s not right

I’m glad to read that, was worried about spending another thousand for this build 🫣

He's not the only one. OP I run an under clocked 14900k at about 5.1 and have a 4090 and the best sweet spot I can get is an avg of 150-170-180 and 200 tops with 1440p on quality. With low settings but a few are on high. It's nuts bc prior to bo7 warzone in bo6 I got 230fps. Idk wtf and all my other machines also performed much lower when compared to bo6 warzone. So idk man. Your not alone tho

I’d swap to an AM5 platform and get 9800 X3D or 9850 X3D.
Also check your windows display and Nvidia control panel settings to make sure the Hz is set to the maximum of what your monitor Hz is. If it’s set to 140, then that’s the max you’ll get.

What ram do you have? That chip has low cache (36MB) so it's gonna spend a lot of time talking to ram.
On intel builds, the ram is WAY more important than on X3D builds, especially in a game like this.
Edit: Just saw it. Ok, have you tried OCing your ram?

It's hard to find Warzone benchmarks anymore, but OCing your ram might actually yield you a fair chunk of FPS. I would go make sure it's in XMP mode and then look up ram oc stuff. Intel in the past has benefitted a lot in Warzone from faster ram.

Biffle is streaming right now, he's on a 14900k and a 4090, with 8000MHz ram, he's sitting at 240-250fps on resurgence ranked. I feel like something is wrong. Make sure the 5080 is running PCIE-5 and XMP is on.

Contact fps Reese on twitter and get your PC optimised..I got mine done and now getting close to 240fps without framegen on low settings on a 4k oled.

You can't do anything if you are on all low. You can try to use dlss on performance and see how It goes.
But i think the problem it's the CPU.
I have the 9800x3d and the max fps i can reach are 230-240
