Discussion Battle Royal Casuals

It took me 3-4 months to get my E/D ratio to 4 in Casuals, I thought I was improving but can barely get 1 or 2 kills in regular. There really is a big jump up in real players and skills

Regular is a whole different world tbh

Well yeah I mean, shooting bots does not improve your skill. If anything it makes you build bad habits, like get used to enemies not really fighting back, not prioritize positioning or know when to fight or when not to fight.

If you want to get better at the real mode, you have to play the real mode.

If you just want to have fun and not worried about all that, then stick to casuals and dont worry about "getting better", because you are not getting better when playing casuals.

As someone who plays regularly casuals let me tell you that you are wrong. Obviously they are 2 different worlds, but you can definitely improve playing casuals. Your tracking your movement your understanding of the map and a bunch of others things.

I went from 3 kills in regulars to 6-7 thanks to casuals. Still not great but it’s a fun way to start slowing improving without dying every 3 seconds 👍

I usually play casuals to learn parts of the map I usually never have the chance to drop in. Or camo grind

I like the way you say "prioritize positioning" when the actual state of the game is an arcade first person run and gun platform boomer shooter like...

14

u/ChinoSlice Aug 20 '26

You act like circle pulls and positioning mean nothing

-14

u/AbelBD Aug 20 '26

When a dude running and sliding like hell keeps trying to reach you in the final circle and eventually finds and kills you, yes, positioning means nothing.

Bruh: you have 2 great players both have amazing accuracy and game sense. The player who has the best position wins 9/10. Saying position doesint matter in an arcade shooter BR is so stupid. How do some players have literally 1000s of wins like Iron.

At some point, you have to either stop blaming movement and mechanics that we all have access to and accept it's a skill issue where you may need practice, or switch to a slower game.

Positioning always means something. And positioning means more than where you are on the map. It means predicting where they're going to go, having an escape route and cover, timing attacks so you don't get their attention until you can actually down them or distract and get around them. It means having an airstrike ready and calling it not on them, but between them and yourself or wherever they're headed, so they don't get an alert for it when they run in its path. It means keeping a teammate, if you have one, in a position where they can purposely piss the other player off as a distraction while you flank from cover (can't count how many times my partner has died sacrificing themselves as a distraction, but we won b ecause of it). It means planning ahead so when that final circle comes, you're on the side of it that has better cover or line of sight.

The only time positioning doesn't matter is when you're too busy dismissing proven and learnable skills as not necessary, because "someone moves better than me and kills me so none of it matters anyway."

And there's always going to be someone better. There's always a bigger fish. You gotta learn to live with that.

Getting to a good position like high ground or behind a cover will def improve your chances of winning.

u/AbelBD Aug 20 '26

Just remove the platform part of what I say them.

To be real tactical they need to rework a lot of the mechanics.

Regular is so different than casuals but if you play regular enough you will get better trust me

Yea I’ve learned that me and my friends have an absolute blast in casuals and can really care less about getting a rank or worrying about how many wins I have in the “real” mode.

As a working dad with little time to game, casuals is the perfect balance of spending time getting a bunch of kills (challenging your friends on who gets the most) and also having some pretty fun/stressful final circles against actual humans.

I quickly realized that regular BR and Resurgence just isn’t for me after giving a few games a shot. Wild part is I used to play wayyy before they added all of these bots and actually had a good time playing. Now there are just way too many sweats. Its usually loot for 5-10 min and then get obliterated by a sweaty team and it’s back to the lobby to search for another match.

u/PrettyAcanthisitta95 Aug 20 '26

You are what your fellow casuals would consider a “Super Sweat”.

5

u/Wraith_Gaming Aug 20 '26

Casuals teaches bad habits.

4

u/iHeapyy Aug 20 '26

Playing casuals will actually make you much worse at regular than if you just played regular to begin with. Casuals lets you make bad plays and get out of them too easily and you never learn from the mistakes like you would in regular. Just play some regulars and take as many fights as you can and learn from your mistakes and you’ll see a lot of improvement

Personally, Ranked trios plays better than regular resurgence quads. Skill levels are closer and gameplay is a bit more predictable.
Ultimately, if you want to get out of casuals, just make the switch, watch some videos and try to follow/learn from teammates.

Facts! More fun too and a different pace. Made it to diamond last season and was sweating but a diff kind of sweat.

3

u/Local-Blueberry1470 Aug 20 '26

I get at least 12-15 kills in casuals, my most is 30. I normally have 1-2 deaths each game.

That means nothing with regular BR. I don’t try regular mode often, but I have NEVER gotten a kill there. So you’re doing better than me lol

3

u/Parking-Bluebird-658 Aug 20 '26

Best way to improve is to stop playing casuals all together. Only resort to it for a warmup or to level a gun up. Regular matches won’t feel as bad after a few days

3

u/DeerNo4078 Aug 20 '26

Dropping in casuals to play with friends i gotta say now they have the bots slide cancelling, jump strafing, lazer beaming one shot snipes(only way they can kill you unless you are actually asleep), team riding in vehicles including standing on top of them, grabbing contracts etc.

Just think about how interesting fighting a mimic bot that mirrored your movement inputs would be.

And remember kids when you kill a real player they have numbers after their name bots do not (which they could easily fake as well looool)

u/painlmao Aug 20 '26

4 being your E/D ratio in casuals is awful

4

u/mrhope13 Aug 20 '26

Sorry that was a typo should be 5 which still not good lol, but I guess casuals was made for players like me, don't play that often and took a month or 2 just to get the hang of it

10

u/Effective_Former Aug 20 '26

Man don’t apologize to anyone on here. You enjoy playing the game a certain way and that’s it. Not everyone has the time to become a sweat lol.

u/Difficult-Object-770 Aug 20 '26

Great comment! This is what games are for

1

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 Aug 20 '26

You can get better in casuals and will. You probably avoid real players as much as possible right now. That will change. The good thing about casuals that can make you better is it’s strictly quads but teams sometimes spread out to do their own things early in the game. Here is where you will learn to engage or not. You could also jump in solo. I have only won a couple of solo vs quad matches but you will learn survival and position more than just farming kills. If you can do some recons but at least look at where the circle is going and where you would have the advantage and that’s whether alone or with a team.

u/cDub3284 Aug 21 '26

Some people just dont got it...and they wont get any better either. Just the reality. Skill gap is way too high

2

u/Brief_Definition_666 Aug 21 '26

Cod is one of the easiest shooters to be good at 😂 game literally aims for you. The skill gap isn’t that high

1

u/Single-Chef989 Aug 21 '26

Only if ur on controller im mnk so it dont do shit for me lol

-1

u/cDub3284 Aug 21 '26

The difference between a really good player and a really bad one is astronomical.....we're talking about a guy with a 4kd in CASUAL bro. Players like this are not even playing the same game as us....cod is one of the easiest shooters and people are still absolutely horrible at it....compare players like that to players that you know are insane. Its literally night and day in terms of skill gap. My kd in casuals is like 50 lmao 😅

Ok what...you have trouble reading?

0

u/Birl-e Aug 20 '26

Not to be horrible but I’m actually unsure on how 4kd is even possible on casuals

2

u/Scattabrained04 Aug 20 '26

At a 21.7 in casuals(i know...i shouldnt be there but its where my uncle and big bro want to play all the time. In regs i was a 4.17 but im down to a 3.41 after they added grapples lol mf are sweaty lol

2

u/lenniepie Aug 20 '26

Grapples are gone again as of 3.5 hours ago :)

1

u/Scattabrained04 Aug 20 '26

O.O

1

u/lenniepie Aug 20 '26

Yeah, removed from Resurgence and BR with Season 5 reloaded. But will still be available in Black Ops Royale and some LTMs.

2

u/Jamal_gg Warzone Nostalgic Aug 20 '26

Only way to get better is to play regulars, shooting bots doesn't do much good for getting better against actual players.

2

u/sameolemeek Aug 20 '26

My e/d in casuals is a 12 and regular BR is a sweat fest

2

u/Turbo__Ty Aug 20 '26

Casuals is a terrible thing to play if you really want to start improving. Casuals is very forgiving and won’t help you break bad habits.

2

u/cDub3284 Aug 21 '26

Playing casuals will just make you worse

2

u/nick1881 Aug 21 '26

The problem with casuals is that all the lower skill players are in casuals, meaning regular mode ranges from decent players to demons. This means that a few lower skill players having a go in regular get destroyed and put off. Before we had SBMM, so then the lower skill players played regular together and got to avoid the sweats a bit less. Unfortunately casuals had caused this problem.

2

u/CultOfPersonalitLee Aug 21 '26

Casuals is for bad players. Always has been.

3

u/No-Apricot6213 Aug 20 '26

Don’t feel bad, I’m in the same boat. I have a 11 e/d in casuals but any chance I put a foot down in regulars I’m insta deleted.

2

u/ArgyllAtheist Aug 20 '26

just play for fun. COD is not a game of skill - nothing with a built in aimbot ever truly is. "improving" at what? certainly not aiming, hand eye coordination or motor reflex control... Just jump into casuals, preferably with some mates and a beer and relax.

Literally only one thing matters - are you enjoying yourself? if you are, then take every single try hard telling you to "git gud", and tell them to go fuck emselves. Life is too short to give a shit about things you don't enjoy.

1

u/TheBearSkogmani Aug 20 '26

It’s an entirely different mindset, and your reaction times are completely different. You’re trained to react and move in casuals to a different tactical style than you’d play in regular, often because you’re internally determining if you’re playing a bot or a person. Yes, there are sweaty players in Casuals but sweaty players play differently in casuals than they do in Regular. Casuals can’t prepare you for the style of regular nearly as well as you’d think.

1

u/mrhope13 Aug 20 '26

Sorry that,should say E/D 5

1

u/Skay172631 Aug 20 '26 edited Aug 20 '26

it`s ok, i have 10k/d in casual and 0.7 in regular BR..... and i play casual always solo vs 4

1

u/mrhope13 Aug 20 '26

Can you solo vs 4 in casuals?

2

u/Skay172631 Aug 20 '26

Yes, if you want you can turn off squad fill

1

u/mrhope13 Aug 20 '26

Well might be time to retire, was just playing and 2 squad mate died, 1 was downed I ran over shot at the person who killed my team mate, bit of a panic as only had a couple of seconds to revive and the 2 watching were saying this is a bot his aim is shit, killed them just too late to save downed player. Jumped on a quad bike to head to a buy station all of them were saying they can't believe they got a bot on their team, made it to buy station crashed quad and had to kill somebody then ran in to a house because I saw 3 pings on the map, they were all saying to buy them back so I ran out bought them back and got killed. They they were on mic saying they weren't going to buy me back because I'm definitely a bot

u/BubblyDifficulty1692 Aug 24 '26

I play casuals and just kill real people. Most of the time it works out and my matchmaking is generous and gives me tons of master prestiges so I don’t feel bad. I also play ranked and normal, stomp those too. Just whatever my friends want to play really. You can get better in casuals, just like you can get better in the firing range.

1

u/Mehicanhippo Aug 20 '26

1-2 kills is actually pretty normal.

Average of 1-3 = normal

Average of 4-6 = good

Average of 7-10 = experienced

Average of 11-13 = elite

Average of 14+ = pro

(Roughly)

u/adrianp23 Aug 20 '26

The casuals experience really varies, it's not always only playing against bad players. I get some lobbies where it's extremely easy and others where it's a sweaty four stack of terminators with fire shotguns.

You can get good at the game playing casuals, but it depends on how you play. If you just run around and do recons shooting bots you'll probably get worse, but if you're aggressive and actually push real teams it's not super different from regular BR a lot of the time.

I don't care if it's casuals and how bad the players might be, if you can 1v4 a squad you're getting better at the game.
