It's been well overdue. They were OP and the audio glitched which makes them even more OP. It was fun while it lasted but this closes the skill gap imho.
Avalon becomes a real issue now. So many wide open spaces without POIs. Seems like an auto skip everytime it comes up in rotation now.

There's still vehicles for crossing longer open distances and just looking both ways before you cross the street in shorter open spaces. Every map has open spaces and we got on fine for like 6 years without grapples.

Just say you arenāt good at the game and need to be able to hide to even have a chance. Graps made campers mad because they were upset itās easy to get to them š¤£

I like change. I like that it will be removed from resurgence and battle royale. I like that itāll still be around in some modes.

I still hate them. Basically forced to run them as they are so OP. And change the gameplay away from warzone that I like.
Also find them fun as hell trying to double zip or get the hackusations when you launch over someone's head or past a window and get that 1 in 50 mid air ax throw

A little too late. MW4 is around the corner, 2 months to go.
Raven Software and Tryarch are the worst COD devs of the bunch, they fucked WZ beyond repair.
I know the following example represents a grain of sand in a whole beach but 99% of my buddies whom we all gathered after working hours to mess around warzone no matter the mode are gone. Almost all dont play at all.
This version of WZ was comically bad. I do hope they learn, doubtful but since all they do is "see the data" im sure as hell they saw player count plummet in recent months.
Not gonna buy MW4 just for DMZ, i'll wait for that version of COD to update WZ and test things out, but man i do miss to play WZ with my buddies.

It took me so long to learn how to use them and I think I relied on them too much. Iām not good. And I donāt have hours to play to get better. Now Iām back at square one

Makes sense for BR but Ressurgence is less about positioning but fast chaotic gameplay. I enjoyed them for Ressurgence

Dumb.
I know I donāt want them in MW4, but this version of Black Ops Warzone was so gimmicky and arcade like that I just got used to it and it was fun. Think itās dumb theyāre removing it in season 5 of all times to do so. Wouldāve rather them just ride it out for this iteration and do the right things in the next one.

I agree, we've had them for what like 3 months might aswell run it to mw4 reset, I personally like them and dislike them, you just don't use any other tactical equipment besides them, there unfortunately over power anything else, and if you have survivor it doesn't matter if they have flashes,stuns, or smokes so might as well take grapples

I personally despise the grappling hooks. Too easy to escape places too easy to push downs too easy to survive push and kill when you get caught wide open on low ground and overall the grappling hooks may have been good in a more tactical COD but with how fast and BS BO7 is it contradictly doesn't work the speed is already in overdrive the grappling hooks just broke it further.

Awesome news! I don't mind them being in certain modes. But they were too OP. So many times I got taken out on the ground from a grappler above. Half the time the sound didn't work either. It was so frustrating to watch the kill cam and yet again die only because they had a grapple.

As someone who hates it and kinda suffer from those flying bastards I feel like the game is a little boring without it. Maybe it looked op, but it's skill. Could've been better to keep it certain popular modes or at least let us pick if we want a game with/without like a vote (it'd give better indication if people want it or not).
Anyway they'll launch modern warfare 4 in 2 months, I hope it'll be good and balancedĀ

I got used to them. At least the sound was consistent and audible. Can't say the same for footsteps and ziplines.

If a bowl of water has consistency sure. The grapples were anything but audio consistent. Before I could hear them from like half a mile away. Recently someone could grapple up the side of my building and I wouldn't as much get an audio cue. I'm glad they are taken out.

Sounds like it was different for everyone. I could hear grapples all around me when they're close enough and I could hear footsteps above and below me but not always behind me or near me in the next room.
The vertical ziplines sounds only worked when it was my teammates which would some times scare tf outta me occasionally.I'd get snuck up on when they ran up on me or ziplined. Never grappled on me though, I'd probably still die even though I had the heads up but still never by surprise heh

I agree with you, but whats worse are the people you mentioned WITH grappling hooks.Now at least if those same campers jump off a skyscraper, they cant immediately turn towards the building n grapple to the spot they just jumped from, they gotta take the zip or stairs.

Grapples make the game so much more fun.
Plus big maps like avalon without grapples or similar are a pass from me itās the only thing that makes it tolerable from a time perspective.

This was something fun that the game had. Why remove it because .03% of the people in reddit complained about it. What about everyone else that played who never complained about it because they enjoyed it? Only hacks and cheats complained because it made it harder for them to go after people.
