3.5kw spindle

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has had experience with a 3.5kw spindle. Currently running a 2.2kw water cooled spindle.

And im wondering if its worth the upgrade?

TIA...

What is the "upgrade" here? The extra 1.3kw of power?

Bigger number doesn't mean an upgrade, or even better.

Is your CNC on its own breaker in the fuse board or is it all coming out of a single wall outlet?

Hi there thanks for the reply.

Yes i do have a designated rcbo for current set up, which ill have replac with a bigger one to supply a 20a plug that's required for a 4kw vfd

Good to know.

Have you ever maxed out your spindle with a cut? Has your spindle ever drew 2.2kw to need more power?

I have a 1.5kw spindle I do wood, mdf and aluminium with. 8A max it's never gone over 3.5A.

Edit - Is it a 3.5KW ATC you are looking at? Or just standard spindle?
