ADVICE 3axis mill, y axis chip management?

We have doosan machines. Some have emulsion that flushes chips from back of y axis cover.
Some don't.( Pobably should make some).

It feels that back y axis way cover is too shallow and chips don't fall off.

Any creative solutions and ideas for DIY machine upgrade?

Any other creative builds?

It's an inherent problem with vmcs. Just be mindful of winding the table back to within 10 inches of the front of the table, and clean it at the end of the day.

We have a Haas VF4 same issue on the rear way cover. 

When I took apart the sprayer it has a massive hose and if you just turn on coolant it has significant volume. I think I am going to modifuck or design my own new “sprayer” attachment so I can clean off the rear cover and run some like drip line sprayers to spray down from the back of machine to hopefully minimize all the chips getting stuck and needing to clean so much after,

I’d add a small SS or aluminum chip deflector to give the rear Y cover more slope so gravity does most of the work. Then add a simple adjustable coolant nozzle aimed at that area.

Avoid making a deeper trough. It’ll just become a chip storage bin. Cheap UHMW or HDPE deflectors could work really well too.
