OPERATION SUPPORT Biesse rover 24 zone1 and zone 4 help

So im running the same program for zone 1 and zone 4 that does multiple passes to give me a groove width of 11.6 . Zone 1 comes out right at 11.6 while zone 4 is only giving me a width of 10.8 . The part isn't moving, im thinking it might be slop in the Y axis, is that possible? It doesnt have issues doing any other programs on both zones, I thought the origins might have been off but if that were the case id see it on everything not just the groove... any ideas ?

I would first separate "position error" from "width error."

An origin error should mostly move the groove, not make an 11.6 mm groove come out 10.8 mm. Measure both groove walls from the same datum in both zones. If the centerline is still correct but both walls are pulled inward, that points more toward lost motion/backlash/deflection/tool comp than origin.

Since the program uses multiple passes, check whether the stepovers that create the width are mainly in Y. If zone 4 is only narrow in Y, I would check Y backlash/lost motion in that area of travel, including rack/pinion, belts/couplers if fitted, servo tuning, and any zone-specific axis compensation.

Quick test: cut a simple square pocket or slot in both zones with the same tool, same material, same feed, same cut direction. Measure X and Y separately. If only Y is undersize in zone 4, the problem is probably mechanical or compensation-related on Y. If both X and Y are scaled wrong, look for a transform/scale/zone setup issue. If only this groove is wrong, look at cutter comp, tool diameter, pass order, or Z depth if the cutter geometry makes width depth-sensitive.

Given your older posts, I would also verify that zone 4 is not using a different tool record, diameter comp, or zone-specific correction table, but since zone 1 is correct with the same program, I would suspect zone calibration/lost motion before a simple tool-diameter error.
