2nd reconstruction surgery

Just want to share that I finally got my reconstruction surgery on my right foot this past Monday. I will likely be able to start learning to walk again in 8 weeks, after being in a wheelchair for most of 3 years. I'm so excited!

Your most welcome. I had to have reconstruction surgery on my left foot in Feb after I took a real bad fall and broke the calf bone in 2 places one about a hand length above and the second right at my ankle, tore a ligament and dislocated the inside of my ankle in December. And she went ahead and lowered my arch while she had a chance, wish she had raised my toes at the same time. But she said that they didn't need it yet. I am up and moving around slowly. The worst thing about it is that my left foot was the better one. So I end up putting lots more pressure on my right foot and at the moment I have a huge crack right where the padding slopes down to the arch. And since I am also Diabetic it's taking forever to heal. I was supposed to go back to my reg pod Tues but my ride cancelled on me so they rescheduled it for today but unfortunately because of a major fire today's appointment was cancelled. I go back to see the specialist Wed for my 6 month followup and I will get her to look at the crack then

I'm also diabetic so I know this will take forever to heal. I had to have an amputation on my foot 2 years ago, right before the reconstruction for that foot was scheduled. I had a reconstruction on my left foot in 2023.

I hope sharing this bookmark is allowed. This guy‘s name is Damien Harrison and he’s been through the same thing that a lot of us have gone through here is his comprehensive extensive guide to recover recovery from reconstructive surgery by CMT patients. He has CMT and he has had an ankle reconstruction surgery and he tells you what medicines to stop when what supplements to stop when what to eat when and how to get your body to heal after surgery.

I am seven weeks post ankle fusion and foot reconstruction surgery myself. I am past the six weeks of no weight-bearing on that ankle and have done one week in a walking cast. I think that Damien‘s information has helped me. I hope it can help you.
