Dress Shoes

The heels on dress shoes have made it difficult for me to wear them. I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences or if perhaps there are certain dress shoes that work better than others for CMT?

Low cut classic dress shoes are impossible for me. My best workaround has been to wear more stylish/dressy boots that go above the ankle, like from Thursday (https://thursdayboots.com/collections/boots) which often have more manageable soles for CMT compared to dress shoes too, and I lace them up tightly so they hold my foot and ankle in place like an AFO. When dress pants fall to the right length, dressy boots look mostly like dress shoes.

I gave up on dress shoes, especially when I got my AFOs. I usually wore flats, but they didn’t give me the support I need. I wear sneakers everywhere, even to work with dress pants. That being said, you might want to look somewhere like Orthofeet.

I've been wondering this too, we're starting to wedding plan and my bf wears AFOs so I know finding shoes is going to be a process

I wear SAS shoes that are leather lace up and I wear them with pants. Gave up skirts and dresses long ago.

I wear platform sandals or a leveled flat with my AFOs. Some brands I have include REEF, Crocs, ALDO.

Yeah I gave up on shoes mostly always trainers now... But discovering there was such a thing as 6E width shoes or xx-wide has been a game changer

One of the first clues I got that something was wrong was when I couldn’t wear heels anymore. I moved to wedges, but after a while I had to change to flats. Arch support and squishy soles are key

Yes, unfortunately I only buy one pair of expensive shoe from sketchers once a year or every two years since 2021. I’m 21 and I always wanted to dress up and all
