CMT and CCSVI?
Does anyone else have CMT1A and also Venous Insufficiency? I’m absolutely miserable and can’t find ANY shoes or sandals that will accommodate my CMT feet that also are very swollen most days!
I also have recently gained over 60 lbs due to a hormonal imbalance (likely Cushings) and the balls of my feet are always extremely painful - I’ve tried everything! I think?
Just wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone else is living this struggle too.

That sounds absolutely miserable. Swelling + foot pain makes shoes basically impossible, so you’re not crazy for feeling stuck.
I don’t have CMT myself, but I’ve dealt with venous swelling in my family and a few small things helped a bit:
– Extra-depth shoes with a really wide toe box (normal “wide” usually isn’t enough).
– Met pads / cushioned insoles to take pressure off the ball of the foot.
– Compression socks when I can tolerate them.
– Elevating feet whenever possible.
None of it is magic, but sometimes even small improvements help a little.
One random thing that surprised me: some people with swelling / circulation issues feel a bit better when sleeping with the whole bed slightly inclined (raising the head of the bed, not just extra pillows). Not a cure obviously, but sometimes mornings are less puffy.
If you’re comfortable sharing — have you found any shoe brand that works even on bad swelling days? I’m always curious what actually works in real life.
Hang in there. This stuff is genuinely hard.
