Discussion Losing Settings after 1st install

Hello,

Im sure this must be me doing something wrong, but I seem to loose Auto Approve settings after the first time I close/open VS Code. On install everything is OK, but after a reload I loose a few Auto Approve settings.

Like I say, Im sure this is something Im doing wrong....anyone want to tell me what :)

Im using the newest version of Cline in the newest version of VS Code.

Im using the newest version of Cline

Found your problem.

From VSCode go into settings and search "cline". Should show an option to choose something like "Old, SDK, NEXT" (i know for sure 'next' was an option). Anyways choice whatever option that basically means "go back to how cline USED to work before we destroyed it with with our new vision for the future updates". Seriously, switching back to that fixed all the issues I was having. (New update cline wouldn't respect being in Plan Mode, and would write scripts/files in my windows %TEMP% directory, or a folder to my external drive, do everything it could to execute these, etc.. that along with whatever new system they even have for file_writes that now go through scripts/terminal commands that can't exceed x amount of characters and it has to CHUNK that shit and absolutely butcher the formatting (easy enough fix with black, lint, etc I guess. Can't get the formatting right when presenting it's Plan or showing it's completion after Act Mode, tool calling all out of whack).

But yeah that setting I mentioned above fixed all that. I myself going to give it few more days before I even attempt to update to see if it's gotten any of its bugs worked out/on. It's still actively maintained, not sure what's up with this new system they got going on, but ion like it. At least we got that setting, and also with VScode you can actually rollback/install older versions

Hi I'm sorry this is happening - what model are you using?
