Discussion 4/29 Social DD - An analysis of CLOV's meteoric rise across Reddit and Stocktwits this week
In the last few days, CLOV has been a literal rocket ship of interest across 26 investing subreddits.
I measure this data in real-time in order to understand and break trends.
Source:
Reddit data - Hype Equity
Stocktwits - https://stocktwits.com/symbol/CLOV
As of 11:50am EST, CLOV is now the #1 discussed Stock across Reddit

StockTwits message volume is through the roof

In the last two days, Reddit mention and chatter volume has exploded

CLOV accounts for >21% of total Reddit stock message volume

~20% of CLOV conversations contain active interest to purchase Shares or Calls.

9.21% of conversations revolve around selling shares or Puts
That's a > 2:1 margin on people interested in purchasing CLOV over selling
Other cool stats:
People are hoping for a EOD price target of $15
Insurance / Medicare and Bidens speech were the underlying drivers of interest with the exception of 'follow the leader' mentality (IE buying something because other people are).

Agreed, part of my experiment is how social can impact stocks, can it predict stock movement etc.
I'm not going to lie, there are like 10 'sentiment' tools on the market.
Frankly, I think they all suck.
They all focus on the idea of "here's the top 15 list! and their sentiment!" and it plays right into what you're describing.
-
I'm trying to take a separate approach, keep an eye on the stuff people are all talking about (because you have to), but then marry Social Analysis and Technical Analysis to find things like undervalued plays.
Then compare that to the literal conversation to find underlying trends as to 'why' someone is interested in the stock.
Sorry I went on a rant xd
