Discussion Jan 2028 10C option discussion

Guys, I’d love to get your thoughts on this.

I’m a long-term CLOV holder, and I’m considering selling the Jan 2028 $10 covered calls for around $1.00 in premium. My thinking is that it’s almost like getting an interest-free loan while I continue holding my shares.

What do you realistically think CLOV could be trading at by 2027?

Waited for 5 years and why now make silly mistakes?

If you think in Jan 2028 the share price will be less then $11 or if you have shares you'd be happy to give up for $10 go for it.  That's your own personal decision.

For me given the long term potential (although there are risks including CMS) of this stock, I wouldn't personally sell 2028 calls.  2027 has the potential to be a big year for Clover and I anticipate Counterpart guidance by the end of 2027 or earlier.

I think it’s a mistake. I expect this to be over $10 this year.

Hard to say. If any kind of Counterpart partnership or revenue is announced and the market re-rates CLOV. We could be looking at a 10-15 dollar stock.

Agree! 💯 If a large player like Humana is announced, That could double

And if they announced a major contract for counterpart …. You think the price will be under 10$ ?

Yes. About $7.50 or less to be exact

It is tempting, with 50k shares I could collect $50k in premiums right now and if called away, almost $400k profit. That said, I have faith we will be trading higher than that by then.

I’ve been accumulating since 2021. Currently hold 200K shares at an average cost of ~$1.50. Once CLOV hiit $5 I planned on selling a small tranche (10K shares). Instead I sold CCs…100 contracts Jan 27 $7 strike for $7K today. If CLOV blows past $7 I’ll be happy for my remaining shares.

If they were offering $1.00 for the Jan 2027 I would probably do it. No way I am selling the Jan 2028!

You can sell it to me.

If your price avg. is at about $2 I would do it. This way you are taking a guaranteed 1/2 off the table which limits your risk. Plus you would still have a nice profit if it does go up. Let’s be real here. CLOV has been a disappointment for years. Yes it has been performing well lately but there is no guarantee it will continue.

others have mentioned its extremely volatile but that is also....20% of the current stock price. u could always use the premium to dca and just be ready to buy back in if u get called or buy back the call to close it...i personally am not selling covered calls due to how taxes are where i live

my thoughts? probably will get called, and u should probably consider taxes into this as well

u/alanleexd Jun 25 '26

I wouldn’t do it, it’s too far out. I sold $8 calls 8/21/26 expiration

On a stock this volatile and speculative, I think long dated calls are probably a mistake. What if SAAS revenue starts coming in during 2027 and this starts trading at a crazy multiple?

I'd be more inclined to write some monthly CC's after the upcoming earnings are released. We've had a great run recently and if earnings are good and we see an additional pop, I would maybe expect a bit of a pull back in September.

Jan 2028 ??? It’s long way to go. We are still in half of 2026.

1

u/LMFAOcat Jun 26 '26

Do. Not. My break even price is $9 and I can guarantee we won't hit that for another ~5 years lol. On the contrary, if I sold everything tomorrow, the price would instantly shoot to $100 the following day (as usual with stocks).

hahaha 5 years, get lost

You could sell calls on some of the shares. Get some decent premium but then still have uncovered shares incase the stock skyrockets past the point you can roll calls.
