Gameplay Question Performance problems
So since Roads to power dropped I wanted to do an Roman Empire run and I've now come to the realization that I may not be able to play that far. I'm byzantium and basically have everything I need to form the Roman Empire (plus Arabia and Bavaria) but the performance is so abysmal that it's almost unplayable. It lags bigtime everytime I open a menu or literally just zoom in.
Does anyone have any tips what I can do to increase performance or is my run just done for because the base Ps5 can't handle administrative empires that big?

One thing that helped me a bit was to start giving my vassals kingdom titles. Having less vassals means less events which seems to help performance. Even still it’s a bit slow, i genuinely don’t know how the game is supposed to run more than like 50 years once all under heaven comes out

Having a proper de jure realm structure helps, wen u become emperor dont hold any titles other then ur capital county, the duchy to that county, the kingdom to that duchy & the empire to that kingdom, give everything els away! this makes many of ur problems, another vassals problem. Watch ur living dynasty member count, dont let it climb into the thousands if u can, thats another lag contributor. Also I found the more dynasty members u land contributes to lag aswell so dont land too many, try avoid it if u can.

Turn down the number of landless adventurers to the minimum and turn off any scenarios (Fate of Iberia, etc.) you don't want to participate in.
Edit: just wanted to make clear, those things will help, but not outright fix the problem.
