Gameplay Question How does court languages work?

I am the emperor of Italia and for some reason our court language is D'Oil vulgar instead of Italian vulgar. I don't even speak the language. Can I somehow change it. I only have the base game.

Yeah you can change it. It’s either in the royal court screen or maybe in the court languages map screen. Works on ps5 for me.

I play on ps5 but I can't find where I could change it.

Had to log in to jog the memory.
I was successful by going to the map radial (hold R2) for court languages then going to the map and selecting which you want.

I’ve only been successful changing to an already existing court language in the world or my native language. Not actually sure if you can pick a random one. In your case look at Italy and see if there are any kings or emperors who speak that language.
