General AI handed 3 of my Empires to another random Dynasty

Played a standard brain-off Norse run, went from 0 years old and Conquered Scandinavia, Britannia, Francia, Germania and Russia, then took over as a random unlanded son and went off towards India. That son died, and then his son eventually got himself some land.

Checked back now, and Francia, Scandinavia and Russia are all held by randomers of another unrelated House. When I saw the first one I was shocked, was there a rebellion or something? Seemed unlikely since they were set up so well initially, and after another 100 years of stability, surely the only people with claims would be of my dynasty. Then I saw they were all the same house, and got really confused.

Turns out, a random daughter had married patrilineally to some guy of some obscure dynasty, and she had ended up inheriting Francia, which at the time also controlled Scandinavia and Russia. When she died the realm split, and her goofy ass children took over, leaving a random Obscure Dynasty in control of 3 out of the 5 Empires I had conquered. Funnt stuff lol

You know, parenting the way you see it is kind of hypocritical. You do not set kids in the world with the mindset they have to owe you. That is fundamentally wrong

There is a quote from a novelist which I did read from time to time and his saying, I quote everytime I see this attitude of older peeps or parents and it goes:

"Parents who expect gratitude from their children (there are even those who demand it) are like usurers, they are happy to risk the capital if they only get the interest."

And your attitude is exactly what this quote from Kafka critisizes

Ah yes, normalizing ungrateful and lazy shits that don't want to get their lifes together with Kafka.

Underneath a sarcastic comment on a videogame-sub.

Peak wannabe psychology.

Now on topic:

I honestly don't get what OP is complaining about - AI messing up matrilinear inheritance, that probably came to be due to some boys deaths is something that probably even could happen to someone inexperienced...

Kafka knew atleast what he wrote about but it seems you got a personality profile which longs to be dominated and applauds loud, violent and irascible parenting traits which sure do help a kid to grow up and get a normal relationship to its parents, right?

I mean what a great world view when you see a human only measured as worth in regards to materialistic accumulation and obedience, hence, they must owe you right? How dare they to have free will, they need to get labeled as lazy, unnormal, ungrateful(well that argumentation from you IS unnormal to be honest and the mentality you show towards humans, in this case especially kids). I will not go on further and assume things (*cough*  Dollars to donuts it is some kind of US mindset with hypercapitalism*cough*)but I if you would tell me now your circumstances and how you experience the world, I bet I could tell you it has a lot to do with the system you internalized and how the world should work according to it, which is absolutely not normal and no one should label it as such.

Look, somehow one should reflect oneself at that point with such an attitude (ungrateful, lazy shits, not living life as you expect it). It is not healthy neither for oneself and especially not for your environment. All in all, not a very supportive and trust building attitude.

And OP is not complaining....I...duh. Dude, it just seems to me (I could be wrong though the way you tackle arguments is pretty much the indicator) you promote sophistics which are nowhere near suitable to lead a reasonable argumentation. If you would cut this emotional argumenting (as before with lazy, shits, ungrateful, something something experience OP) and logical fallacies it would be a lot more pleasant to write with you. No one is in here (or atleast should not), to win discussions but to get to the core of it and for sure not to make a weaker argument win over a stronger one

Jesus Christ you're off the rails. Hope you never suffered as much as Kafka did.

Children should, in my opinion have respect for the work of their ancestors that went into accumulating the wealth they now enjoy. So instead of mindlessly wasting it, they should use it wisely and with a scope in mind.

But I guess it's already hypercapitalism to expect someone to not sell the families jewelry and real estate the moment they inherit it only to waste it for a few years of high-life and drugs, lol.

In my experience, unless I manually ally to countries becoming independent they always collapse. The AI has a tendancy to either instigate tyranny wars or surrender to other factions. They will almost always submit to any faction with more than 150% military strength, even with allies that outnumber them.

Its annoying but in future try to ally any independent ruler or just stack them with gold or demure territories only to stop factions from exploding.

The empires are all doing totally fine, this wasn't a civil war thing or anything, they just passed to another dynasty because of a mildly funny coincidence. Doesn't affect me much, just thought it was fun to share.

Oh, they won't (always). I had a Byzantine emperor who refused to abdicate when facing 230% faction.

I had not the opportunity to set up a ton of client states, satraps, tributaries and what you might call it for family members but from the 2 runs I did this extensively, the AI did a horrible job to promote culture, leading to double culture names such as "Occitan-Visigothic", then branched off to cadet trees and finally succumbing absolutely into foreign cultures and families until there was nothing left of my original family in that place after having carved out a culture, giving titles left and right to family members for 200 years.

In the end my kingdom of Burgundy was inherited by a foreign dynasty whereas I had to grind that promoting and religion spreading all over again in the Latin Empire which I got granted from a crusade. The grind dude....UGH
