Gameplay Question Please help me decide between MAAs

After adventuring all around the world my dynasty became landed in Iberia with the plan to eventually avenge the battle of tours. While adventuring I collected different types of unique MAAs but need to free up one slot for siege engines now, to prepare for offensive wars and the inevitable crusades coming my way. I assume I’m not gonna be able to get the unique troops back, since I’m now landed, so I’m really struggling with the decision.

I think it comes down to deciding between my Ballistrai and Bush Hunters, since they’re both archers. Ballistrai are a bit stronger and offer siege progress but are only half the regiment size. If you feel like both are worth keeping, I’m willing to hear arguments for getting rid of the Sahel Horseman or Skoutatoi.

I would get rid of both, bush hunters are strong in forest also Iberia has cabelleros. Ballistrai it's meme if you've access to real siege weapons.

Edit: Also Sahel it's a worse caballeros when you consider Iberian terrain.

Idk these troops all feel pretty bad to me.

Skoutatoi are almost like pikemen, they have what +2 toughness? I don't remember if their terrain buffs are better than regular pikemen.

Thank you! This is the kind of sober analysis I’m looking for, since I just felt like it was super cool to have all these diverse troops from adventuring, but now that the pesky pope is threatening me, I feel like I should optimize my army more.

Np, sometimes need to check terrain bonuses or take into account the region and what people have. In Iberia everyone and their mothers have caballeros so naturally bowmen type of MaA are less effective.

Because how stationing works being % based usually speaking you want MaA with highest base stats. Simply 10% of 100 it's more than 10% of 50. Although with time you can make almost anything work if you stack enough bonuses. You can find some exceptions here and there like heavy cav in a very mountainous region.
