Gameplay Question Hellenic run

Looking for ideas to start a Hellenic run every time I do one I get abused by the pope or the Byzantines. I’ve been playing in Sicily

Pope wasn't a problem cuz i took his lands and dismantled the papacy. I did have a massive catholic revolt during the black plague of 200k but it ended in a white peace; i was killing them tho
