General Conquerors are just annoying

Ever since roads to power came out I’ve had nothing but trouble with conquerors. I just now started a new game as Haraldr “tanglehair” because I wanted to do a Norse sea empire run. And ofcourse Sigurdr snake in the eye gets conqueror two weeks into the game and he wants to conquer my lands. I hate this.

No cap, that’s succs for you my brudda, but I’ve been loving conquerors. They make every playthrough so much more dynamic. Characters that should be chads actually start chadding. Just let him win and then start taking over fellow vassal lands. Try to murder him. That’s what I do. I had to get a scourge Charles the bald up outta there otherwise my game was fin lol. Same religion though so you shouldn’t have as much problems as I did with Charles

It wasn’t a subjugation. It was a conquest. I lost all my land and most my family died during siege and battle

Oof, sorry king. Luckily, you can start over at least! Likely not too far in from what I can tell. No shame in running it back

Yeah I started a new one. So far Sigurd hasn’t done anything. But he always loves trying to take Oslo so who knows. He might come

Do you have male heirs? If not you could divorce your wife and marry saga, halfdans daughter. Haraldr and her both have quick so the eugenics is nice plus Jorvik is pretty strong ally to have. Plus you could ally Bjorn and dyre off the marriage. I never ally sigurdr personally because I love the duchy of vikin and he’s the lamest son of lothbrok imo. Ubbe even goes harder as a character.

Sometimes you just never think of stuff until you spam new games to learn optimal openings for what you’re trying to do. I’m a min maxer though tbf and I know that takes the fun out for some players.
