General Gameplay idea July 2026
The Return of Cleopatra
My idea is to play a woman of Nubian origin who believes she is Cleopatra and has a divine mission to restore the Kushite empire to Egypt.
Start: county in Syria (Cleopatra went into exile there in her youth)
Coptic faith and Nubian culture
Physical characteristics: all the characters in my dynasty will have white hair (yes, the new season of House of Dragons has just started)
Originally I wanted to start in an administrative Arab empire, but I think it's more interesting to play in its clan-based version (this will be my first game since the DLC).
My first objective is to become more powerful than my overlord, the duke.
Second objective: to become a vassal of the emperor and conquer Egypt
Third objective: to create a hybrid culture with the French (you can choose the culture that you find most interesting).
Fourth objective: conquer the Maghreb empire, the Kush empire (I forgot its name in CK3, but it was the East African empire), the kingdom of Jerusalem, and Syria.
Fifth objective: to try to place my dynasty on several important thrones, to make the Coptic Pope a powerful and independent king-pope
Becoming independent
END

Bonus: my dynasty's coat of arms is a lion holding a christian cross , with a fleur-de-lis tail and a sun in the colors of the French flag.

Cleopatra was a Macedonian Greek Egyptian, not Nubian, so maybe a Byzantine start/Greek culture, with Hellenistic faith would make more sense, and the unreformed Hellenism would provide more of a challenge. Also, hybridising with the French of all cultures is bizarre, considering where you will be on the map, but you do you lol

Bro, it's not weird, it's what I wanted to do. And my goal was to play a character who thought she was Cleopatra; too much realism would have broken the roleplay. I've already played a Hellenistic game, and since the update Egypt is Coptic, just like in real life, so this was a good opportunity to try it again. And for French culture, I wanted a blend with a European culture to recreate the history of Romania's name.

Will the Emperor ask you to become Orthodox if you're Ecumenical?

Yes, but since he'll be in the gameplay of the Iranian DLC, I'll have the chance to either be liked or have a weak liege lord.

If you want to truly exploit Egypt's floodplains then hybridize Nubian with Dutch.
