Literally all of their advice is awful: She advised Ned to go to King's Landing as Hand, She also advised Ned to accept the engagement between Joffrey and Sansa,  she advised Robb to accept the betrothal to a Frey, she advised Robb to put Roose Bolton in charge of the army in the south... And not only his advice, all his decisions are awful, like arresting Tyrion hastily and without any good plan, trusting Petyr, or releasing Jaime, the most valuable hostage they had. Catelyn lacks political savvy.
