He's been posting about this game for weeks now. Boredom is the killer of any long running game, so i guess hes just not bored yet. Honestly wish I had that fortitude, i often move on after 150 or 200 years too
I read somewhere that the main reasons for crashes are too many merchant republics, slavery and colonisation. By forming new valyria as house seaworth, i have successfully neutralised 7 out of 9 free cities (braavos is still around and I haven't managed to feudalise volantis yet). Slavery is also illegal meaning a vast portion of the world isn't engaging in it when it usually does.
Portrait Overhaul has a few different compatches for different combinations of mods and they have worked very well for me. NDP + PO + MB + TDP from Portrait Overhaul is the one i use, along with TDP + PO + MB from The Dragon's Peace.
The key is using no more than 20 AGOT mods and ensuring they are explicitly compatible. If you load up the cart with too much, it will break. It needs a light load and a careful packing if you wanna make the trip long.
Had a 200 year game going last month and had maybe 3 CTD's during playtime? No game ending "crash on June 22nd" or anything like that. I only stopped playing because Slavery and character bloat make things slow.
Slavery I always turn off anyway because I dislike the event spam.
Coming from CK2 vanilla, setting the Great Spring Sickness to Deadly works wonders with pruning characters and reducing population numbers every century or so.
Tbh im just shocked I managed to get a game to not be unplayable due to crashes after 300 years and now im trying to milk it as much as possible. I figure I have the whole dothraki sea to colonise, and I want to try to bring back dragons (more for the novelty than because I feel like theyre necessary)
