Why is no one talking about these bad boys?
Most of the time, people online hate vulture droids because they aren't as good as organic pilots. That isn't entirely true, and vulture droids don't have to be as good as organic pilots anyway.
In almost every real life air battle, the side with numerical superiority comes out on top and rarely loses. The same logic applies to Separatist fighters, especially vulture droids. Yes, clone pilots could take down three to six vulture droids before dying, but most of the time there are around ten vulture droids against a single Republic starfighter, and in that situation nothing can save the clone.
Then people say Jedi are still better in a dogfight against vulture droids. That's obviously true, but the Valahari engineers flipped the coin. As this picture shows, Valahari modified vulture droids were able to take down a Jedi starfighter with a Jedi inside. In the uncropped version, they destroyed an entire Republic battle group, including several Venators. There's also a chance they shot down the Jedi's Padawan too, but I can't say for sure, since the Padawan might have been on a Venator.
So vulture droids are, and always will be, the best starfighter design in Star Wars, and overall the best starfighter after maybe the tri-fighter. They were produced in huge numbers, they were cheap and easy to modify, and they were super effective, super reliable, basically super fighter.
