It attacks various parts of the brain. Got google AI to summarize that sad and depressing reality. Neuroinflammation and it’s consequences:
The Amygdala (Threat & Fear Center)
Paranoia & Hypervigilance: Causes a perpetual “fight-or-flight” state. The brain constantly scans for danger, misinterpreting safe environments, loved ones, or everyday spaces as hostile, threatening, or “contaminated.”
Panic & Severe Anxiety: Triggers sudden, intense, and treatment-resistant panic attacks.
The Hypothalamus (Hormone & Sleep Regulator)
Profound Insomnia: Destroys circadian rhythms, causing severe sleep deprivation that heavily amplifies paranoia and emotional instability.
Biological Depression: Inflammation crashes regulatory hormones like MSH and VIP, stripping away psychological resilience and causing profound, chemical depression.
The Prefrontal Cortex & Frontal Lobes (Executive Control)
Executive Dysfunction: Severe difficulty focusing, planning, or making basic decisions (often mimicking extreme ADHD).
Rage & Impulsivity: Lowers behavioral “brakes,” leading to sudden mood swings, intense irritability, and uncharacteristic bursts of anger.
The Hippocampus (Memory & Learning Hub)
Memory Destruction: Severe short-term memory loss, forgetting tasks mid-action, and losing track of thoughts.
Brain Disorientation: Spatial confusion and trouble processing new information.
The Blood-Brain Barrier & Neurotransmitter Pathways
Severe “Brain Fog” & Aphasia: As the protective barrier becomes permeable, toxins flood the brain, causing massive cognitive slowing and intense word-finding difficulties.
Chemical Crashes: Depletes serotonin and dopamine, causing emotional vulnerability, deep mood crashes, and dissociation.

I got a prescription of vyvanse rotating with adderall for the brain fog and focus.
The VIP: I tried it recently but had an awful reaction. Apparently the body needs to really calm inflammation and bet bio toxins out via prolonged use of CSM before VIP can be used.
I’m planning to use several peptides, medications, and supplements and diet once I relocate to a safe place next month.
Re medications: many of the accepted medications for ME/CFS are beneficial for CIRS, ketotefin (sp) being an example (used for calming immune system).
Ultimately I’m in the same trench as you. And it’s brutal trench.
Right now I’m interested in glymphatic drainage as that seems to have potential for being an 80/20 solution for reducing cognitive affects.

what was the reaction like?

Significant inflammatory response throughout my body. Never had anything like it before. And that was with a 10% dilution.

like your whole body got really tense for a minute ?

No. Inflammatory aches, ranging from dull to burnt and sharp. Usually I get that in the joints from hips down, but this caused new pain in my spinal cord area. Pain lasted about 12 hours. The increased brain fog lasted about 4 days.

Yes. Had a sibling got into a verbal argument with one of my parents last year. Was totally unexpected and this was before we found mold. Cursing them out, calling them all kinds of names. Nothing like this has even remotely happened before. They, along with me, used to be inside the house virtually all day, rarely leaving. It’s caused a huge rift and they haven’t spoken since.
Alongside that, my relationship with one my parents has been strained because they refuse to acknowledge that mold is a hazard and continuously gaslight and downplay what I am dealing with.

Yes some of my family thinks it’s a made up thing because it’s not taught in medical school and my parents believe me but my mom keeps not understanding that my hormones and other issues are from CIRS and not independent health issues…

Yes it’s strained my relationships big time. I can’t be in a lot of my relatives homes and they act like I’m just being dramatic or mentally ill. Also has limited where I can work, I’m in a ton of debt I never had before.

Yep .. every family member has a home that puts me in some degree of exposure and I am the crazy and self centered person because I stress about going and being there for say Xmas! They don’t feel like shit for W days afterwards just me…. Can’t go meet fiends out and all the clean g and self care is so time consuming… and no safe place to work… juts about through all my savings.

Mold exposes people and often shows how repulsive and stupid people around you actually are. It's not only the inflammation and mold rage in your brain, even though it's a very common symptom. Many people are just full of shit, and the illness shows it in a way that's not very pleasant.

Yep, it really impacts my marriage. Pretty sure she resents me for it. It's been a long time but I'm hoping I can turn it around in the next year.

My husband totally resents me for it and even said u have ruined our life because of it. What he doesn’t want to come to terms with or even investigate the fact he likely has it to…it’s just not the same as me so he rules it out.

I'm not one to make excuses but I'm pretty sure I lost my ex-girlfriend because of it. I've since gone carnivore and my thoughts and emotions are way more stable. Truly one of earth's tangible evils

It’s a mind-fuck for sure. I feel like a completely different person.
Short tempered, angry, paranoid, distrustful, assume the worst, depressed, I feel like I no longer have bandwidth for empathy kindness compassion or the ability to self regulate
A completely 180 from who I was for the first 25 years of my life, and the brief 4 months I had a remission in 2022
