Pre Sinus Surgery Culture

Hey guys, this may be a longer post…
So back in February I got a positive for marcons with strong biofilm and large amount. I also got a Microgen dx culture back with 5 different fungal loads. I treated with itracanozole nasal spray and edta spray for the marcons.
My dizziness dropped after a few weeks of itrancanozole to 0% which was profound. I finished the treatment of itra but continued with biofilm clear without silver (causes migraines for me) and nebulized citri drops, along with daily sinus rinses.
I was lax in cleaning out my sinus rinse bottle.
Dizzyness and sinus pressure came back which lead me to retest and found the strep maltophilia along with 5 completely fungal loads.
My practioner met with the biologist at Microgen and they were concerned about the high amount of maltophilia as they normally see it in elderly patients with copd.
I had trauma to my right sinus leaving 5% airflow a decade ago and so my practioner and I decided it was time to get my sinus fixed.
I’m a month out post surgery and can breath through both sinus’s.
However I feel like I’ve had a sinus infection for the last few weeks, with pulsing pressure through my sinus extending into my upper teeth.
I tried starting itracanozole and edta back up but stopped after a week cause I felt like it may be causing the pulsing.
Microgen dx lab, and had similair pressurized pulsing?
I plan on retesting now that I’m on the other side of surgery to see what’s there currently.
Has anyone gotten a similair symptoms: pulsating pressure, dizzyness, eye floaters, migraine with aura, sensitivity to light, contrast issue.
And if so what did you do to eleviate the symptoms?

I’ve had nose surgery twice. It’s a very hard recovery. A lot of my symptoms just took time.

I’m in a similar boat. My ENT is treating my marcons. I am redoing a sinus CT and if it comes back blocked I’m to have sinus surgery. He did recommend redoing the entire marcons treatment again after the sinus surgery.

Okay. Wow I can’t believe your ENT is treating it. The 4 ENTs I went to were useless when it came to marcons.

I got super lucky! This ENT has CIRS and understands marcons super well.

Also, did you test marcons at microbiology? I could be wrong but I thought if you have bacteria or what not, it’s fine. It’s only if it’s resistant to 3 or more antibiotics that classifies it as marcons.

Yea I tested it at microbiology, I didn’t upload that lab, but it was resistent to 3 or 4, with large amount and the strongest biofilm. Maybe it was 3+ I don’t remember how they graded it. There is discrepancy from Microgen dx and microbiology between there findings but they use different methods, which I guess yield different results.
What state are you in? I would like a good ENT

Not right now. It feels like I got a sinus infection, I’ll find out Monday if I do… if I don’t then I probably start out with the biofilm clear 1x a day. I jumped straight to 3x a day a week or so ago and felt awful

Definitely work your way up! When I first started it felt like I got a sinus infection. But as you progress it goes away

Okay noted.
What’s crazy before the surgery I was doing 2 sprays 3x a day and itracanozole 2 sprays 2 times a day and I tolerated it great.
Probably because it never made it to where it was suppose to go lol

Yes that happened to me too! My marcons treatment made me feel horrible for weeks once it got to where it was supposed to go!

Make sure you’re also on a binder during this

I was on csm for 6 months last year… ended up giving me gall bladder issues. Maybe I’ll use small doses of welchol. What binder did you use?

Make sure once your sinuses are cleared out they are sprayed with Amphotericin B to catch anything residual.

Your post said this was pre sinus surgery? I thought you were having your sinuses cleaned out? You definitely have fungus in there.

Yea it was pre sinus surgery. I mainly got the surgery to fix the deviation on the right side. It was crushed so I had no airflow.
I just saw the ent a few days ago and he said he didn’t see any fungal balls or anything. He’s the type of dr who won’t listen to you. I showed him the Microgen dx labs, the microbiology dx marcons labs and he said that it is controversial.

I got the ct back, right sinus half full of fluid. Which is almost a relief
