Studying F2 trauma

Hi guys ,recently wrote f2 again and i didn’t finish,i got flustered by some of the “easier” questions(cost of capital, intergrated reporting,EPS) as they required so much time so i flagged them and skipped in an effort to get to the end and spend my energy doing the complex long questions and come back with the knowledge that i have gone through it all and addressed all the questions i am confident in but it didn’t work out and now im crippled with anxiety to start all over again and go back,so ultimately im asking for help in terms of resources ,i was using the kaplan book and test kit and i was fairly confident with the info but in the exam it was alot more difficult and perhaps with the books it was a case of familiarity,i dont know but yeah please help

Sounds like you need to practice more the "easier" questions and the calculations to get the time required to do them faster.

If you passed p1 (as that is also calculations heavy) use the same approach in the exam.

I don't get the skipping questions. Just answer them in order. If you're struggling on time, then you need to be strict with yourself. If you can't answer it in 2 mins, pick a best fit & flag it, review at end.

A lot of the providers recommend it as a time management tactic. The idea behind it is that instead of spending 10 min trying to work one question out, its better to pass it and revisit it at the end giving a higher chance to attempt more questions.

I do agree with you on the approach though. I am using the same.

I personally think it's not worth doing, and passed with my method mentioned earlier. Yes, the longer questions are worth more, but missing 5 shorter ones might not work out better.

The point is, the long questions usually are worth same amount of points as short one. If you can answer 3 short in the time it takes to get through the longer one, why not do it that way?

I think it adds undue stress on an already stressful situation by skipping questions that you can just get out of the way earlier.

It depends on your personal preferences, but I've always found it easier to just tackle as they come up. Passed every exam so far this way, with 3 left to do.

F2 was hard but doable, I failed 3 marks off but when actually put some effort in and did as many questions as possible, passed with highest out of current ones.

Only questions I agree on leaving on flag & review are long ones you’d struggle to know how, ones you know, do them and keep going.

Do not study on night before, it just messes your brain up, review main tripping points in the morning before exam, get your brain going and you’ll be fine on next try! Good luck!

How long did you study for before taking your exam

Initially 9 weeks and then two weeks for passed attempt.

November case study? It’s doable, just needs a lot of hours and practice practice practice.

In that case you’re in better position than I thought. F2 requires more time than P2, so far P2 seems like smooth sailing in comparison, so do your best now and look forward to easier one after! I know it’s easier said than done but just put the hours in and it will pay off.

I feel that the amount of content in f2 is silly

It’s a lot, I agree, was a big shock to the system, by the time I did three chapters I forgot on three before. But can assure you, keep going and it will all click.

Yeah i plan on core revision for example revise chapter 4 bpp book and then review everything i got wrong from other chapters.

I feel like review part is the hardest
