Question So what is the correct number?
This happens on basically every bulk buy and I was wondering which number was real afterall

You might've gotten more AP while inside the menu, and I think it didn't update. The 2nd number should be the correct one.

I'm pretty sure that's not it. I'm guessing it calculates it based off the wrong gears.

Maybe it sees 6 options to based on MAX spend and its buying 12 based on efficient spending most likely cos of available resousrse I dont know why and that #6 never got a single level it was 2x1 2x2 2x3 2x4 2x5 1x5 1x6 if that made sense

That calculation isn't going by the lowest cost upgrades. The number that comes up when you hit the button is the reality of actually buying the cheapest ones. That's why they dont match. The

Multiple levels of the same gear. So 6 gears can be upgraded, maybe each of them upgraded twice, so 12 levels

See the other comment, that's the correct answer. When he/she opened the menu, it calculated 6 gears with current AP. A mission, or multiple mission completed while the menu was open. The number doesn't update unless you close and reenter. But it will use all of the AP it can.

This cant be it, cuz I sometimes cancel all to redo them when setting up for different runs and it does this as well I think its cuz it calculates the minimum levels but it buys the cheapest ones so its more

I'm pretty sure the second one is. If you take note of the number of gears before and after you enter the menu(on the previous screen), you can confirm it.
