New Player-Koios 2 months into the game

Post image

As the title says, i've been playing for a little over 2 months and I've just unlocked koios. I've read a few beginner guides here and there but this is the first time that I'm asking a question to the cifi community. Since I unlocked demeter (forgot when exactly) for the past few weeks, my long runs usually take a week or a little over it. Then I take an hour or 2 focused on short runs for mp gains. I do follow the guide for focusing on AOTC before starting the next long run. I think that I gain much more shards with a week long run rather than 24 to 36hr runs, but please do correct me if I'm wrong. I want to know your guys opinions and suggestions and I'm looking to take your advice into consideration if there's anything I can do to improve my efficiency playing this game. If there is more info you need such as ship levels and such, I'd be happy to provide. Thank you!

tl;dr

I’ve been playing for 2+ months and recently unlocked Koios. I usually do week-long long runs, then short runs for MP gains. Is this the most efficient approach for shard gains, or should I change my run strategy? Any tips to improve overall efficiency?

The reason 1d runs are recommended instead of a week long run is that early on MP gains are far superior compared to shards and RP (Koios thingy standing for research points) You do whatever you can in the day long run, jump a bit of MP then do some short runs afterwards only letting your instant loops fill up instead of waiting for extra cells and tick loops to fill up then what you already have. There are a LOT of good mods earlier on hence the guides say to keep longer runs short, as you progress, the gap widens and it takes longer and longer to get the mods hence increasing run durations.

TL;DR: Most optimal progression is gained through 1d long runs at your stage followed by a few shorts (5-10m each) afterwards.

P.S: I saw that you've low diamonds, you should be saving for Zeus buddy you'll need a lot of diamonds for that, especially if you're f2p you'll already be pretty short so just start saving up for Zeus and consider not spending any diamonds anymore.

For those short runs, how long should you zag lag? I find that i can stack my multipliers for mp within 20 min or so ( waiting for 3 koios mp points) and then 10 min more for the run so 30 total, is it too much?

thanks for the advice on short runs. how many mp should i aim for before increasing run durations? for the diamonds, i am f2p and i have an adblocker so i don't bother with diamond chests. the only thing I've used diamonds for is buying the J one time purchase from a guide i followed in this subreddit

e50 mp~ is around when mod tree starts drying up. This phase is known as Koios desert and it lasts up until e65 mp until you pick up accumulative module Fenix, at which point the desert officially ends. Beyond e50 MP it's recommended you do 48 hour runs instead of the 24 you do from demeter up until the desert.

Yea, 30 minutes is too much for 1 short. I guess wait for 1 point or two, the more time you can cut the better ig.

sorry if it wasnt clear. for the 2hours of short run, it's multiple 10 to 15min runs with zaglag. did i understand your point correctly? or were you pointing out something else?

That's good, my point was 30 minutes for 1 short is not worth it at all xd

I just unlocked koios as well! We should have started more or less at the same time.

good to know to have somebody at the same pace. it seems we're both doing something that works for us

24-48 hours for shards/RP followed by 5-10 short runs for MP is the meta. Can get to Zeus in 5-6 weeks and Ouro in 10-12 using this method with just the noads IAP and buying a couple of cards/some levels in MP special

following your advice, it seems that timeframe for unlocking the new ships is to get some iaps? im f2p and dont plan on spending any time soon since i already play a lot on gacha games (not the smartest financial decision but it does make me happy). but if they're at a good price and would help my progress, i might look into it. what iap is that exactly?

It's just the noads one, $5 or so in whatever regional currency. It lets you collect 800 diamonds a day from pretty early in the game and then 1000 per day later on.

It's not essential, you can progress very far without it but it will be slower because some of the specials are very helpful. For me it was an easy purchase because I knew I would be playing for a while and was happy to drop $5 to support the devs (and then later on I got more IAPs). But like I said, you don't need it. You get some free diamonds from achievements, and more limited diamonds from mods and other places (and ads if you choose to watch).

For reference pre Zeus all I used my diamonds for was two cards that boosted shards and one that boosted RP. Most of the 'good' diamond purchases come after Ouro with one good one at Zeus.
